COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Prima Donna Special Lager is a classic lager noted for its unique aroma and its unsurpassed hoppy flavour. It is characterized by a brillant golden color, a compact head, and its fresh, thirst-quenching qualities.

An Oscar-winning beer
…we chose to call our beer Gradisca, because we brew it in this corner of Romagna and San Marino, between the sea and the hills, a land rich in history and amazing stories. But above all, as a tribute to an illustrious celebrity who was born here, film director Frederico Fellini, who conquered cinema-goers the whole world over with his rich and poetic vein of inspiration, winning as many as four Oscars for his films, including, of course, Amarcord, where Gradisca is the protagonist. 4.7% Alc. Vol.

Note: Uses the name Gradisca on the local market, and Prima Donna for export.
Known for being 4.7% ABV in the past, now at 5.2% ABV.

I am by no means an expert on this but this was a nice beer. This beer was everything that the commercial description is and more. The mouth feel was a bit heavy with a sweet after taste.

Sampled from bottle at Italian beer tasting at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. Clear blond color, ok smell, decent taste and a very nice mouthfeel, good carbonation and body for a beer of only 5,2%ABV.

Pours to a glowing flat yellow body with a tall, lasting frothy white head. Nice lacing. The aroma is very strong and smells of hops that are floral and honeysuckle like. Some dry yeasts. Smells kind of like a Kolsh. Some straw. The flavor is clean and crisp lager yeasts and floral hops. A touch watery. The palate is sweet, clean, easy drinking. Bitter on the finish. Slightly mouthwatering. Nicely made and an easy summer beer. I don’t see how so many people are hating on this one.

Bottle donated by John. Cornbread & bittering hop aroma with a flavor that puts nicely bittered corn & malt up front with an interesting orange & raspberry fruitness throughout. A good premium lager.

Bottle at the Freedom Traveller Hostel, Rome. Clear, honey-gold pour with no head, really. Crisp bread aroma with some metal notes. Light to medium sweet, some minerals and metal, toast, grass and earth bitters. Light to medium bodied with tingly carbonation. Semi-sweet, fairly dry finish, more crispy malts and easy metal. Alright.

Easy to drink, pretty light beer. Nothing crazy in the smell and taste. It’s a bit of a drink and forget beer, but really, when you drink this at the right moment it might be a pleasant beer.

Bottle. Pale cloudy golden beer with a light head. The aroma is plain and yeasty and dry, and the flavour is plainly bitter, yeasty and dry. Overall a fairly average yeasty dry beer.

Golden colour, interesting herbal aroma. Not much bitterness, some hops, and nice, pale-ale like finish. Good for an Italian one.

White weak head. Golden colour. Aroma is moderately hoppy with herbal and light hoppy and grainy notes. Flavor is moderately malty with grainy, bread and light hoppy tones, ending in a moderately bitter finish. Light bodied.
