Nice, my first San Marino beer. Not many can claim that they have actually drunk one, eh ? Anyway, not what I expected of a Belgian ale, mostly due to the lack of anything resembling spices, but
it’s pretty good anyway. Looks nice, pours a huge, rapidly vanishing white head that leaves some small lacing, and looks quite nice, orange, with lively carbonation. Malty aroma. Pleasant malty flavor, some lemon maybe, and, well, hearty, and leaves a roasty aftertaste. Tastes like what I imagine a bock would taste (believe it or not, I have never actually tried a bock, three doppelbocks, but no bocks, strange isn’t it). Overall, quite a pleasant beverage, which proves that it’s the brewer, not the country it’s from that counts. Just noticed the label. Well, hide this bottle from your children, it’s probably not what you would want them to see.

Oct 18, 2008 pours a hazy dark gold under a large frothy off-white head. grainy, honey, lightly fruity aroma. flavor is pale malts(grain, honey, hints of toffee) with a bit of light fruits(peach). i also get a faint trace of nutmeg. light-ish body.

Sep 22, 2008 Bruttissima: per farle fare un poco di schiuma bisogna versarla in verticale a 15cm di distanza dal bicchiere, e comunque mentre uno sta guardando sparisce in un baleno. Aroma giusto giusto interessante con miele strabordante ma toni di frutta sciroppata (pesca, prugne cotte) e boh ci sento qualcosa tipo ciclamino. Ma il sapore banalissimo, sembra la Palm piu dolce (ancora) e forse un pochino piu fragrante, ma niente di che...

Aug 30, 2008 Poured a golden color with a thin off-white head. Aroma was really interesting. First it smelled like feet, but in a good way. Then it smelled like dried apricots, then I kept catching whiffs of biscuit and fruit and marmalade. I would have been happy just smelling this beer.
The flavor unfortunately was a little less interesting. Malty, bready, a little fruit. Nothing spectacular. Decent beer, but man it smelled good.

Aug 23, 2008 Good malt flavors going on here mostly bread and sweet notes. It seemed to be a little thin for me. An OK beer that was nothing special.

Jul 27, 2008 Thanks to Eyedrinkale. Poured a hazed gold with an off white head. The aroma of sweet fruity malt and a light yeasty spice. Toasty and fruity malt and a mild spice finish. The finish had some length. A light to medium body.
