3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dorqui (1552) - Brescia, ITALY - MAY 10, 2005
Creamy and adherent foam. Long persistence. Shining yellow color, lightly loaded. Much bubbly and long-lasting. Optimal aspect. Intense and pleasant scent. Herbaceous and wine cellar notes. Light and pungent taste. Mildew and malt rumor. Much similar to the De Dolle Lichtervelds Blond even if much less strongly and decided.

50 cl bottle, bought in Italy. Golden ale with a full creamy head. Refreshing beer, with a fine sourish aftertaste, though some honey sweetness lingers, too. Fruit - apples, a hint of sour cherries - abd grass in the aroma.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - MAY 29, 2008
Swing-top bottle - One of the regulars at our tastings brought this back with him on a recent trip to Italy. Usually the beers he brings back are pretty average at best, but this was a nice one actually. The beer pours out a dark golden/amber color with a fairly small sized head. Weak caramel, a nice sweet fruit character with a touch of hops, honey and spices. The flavor had a very subtle sourness about it, almost like it wasn’t supposed to be there but it worked. Strong malts, toffee, honey with a very fruity finish. Not bad!

Golden with a small white head. Fruity aroma with a bit of caramel. Sweetish fruity flavour with some exotic fruit, peach and pineapple.
