COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Note: Brewed with acacia and wildflower honey, Visciola wild sour cherry and blackthorn. Refermented in the bottle with Champagne yeast.

Shared by Garrett Oliver. 750 ml swing top bottle. White Label with peacock. Pours a hazed deep copper with a nice lingering off white head. Aroma is tart, musty, light sweetness, doughy, nutty, earth, leather, grapeskin, light tart cherry, gooseberry, yeast, spice, phenolic, lightly fruity. Flavor is wheat, dough, sl.ight toast, then yeasty dough, wheat malts, grass, leather, earth bread, tart under-ripe cherries, gooseberries, slight lemon zest and a refreshing slight tartness and med high carbonation make it quite refreshing for such a high abv beer. UPDATED: MAR 5, 2013 750 ml bottle. Slightly cloudy orange body with a big off-white head. Strong and nice aroma of caramel malt, fruit and spices with a hint of dry fruit. Flavour is sweet malty, fruity, spicy, light fruity acidity and some yeast. Well hidden alcohol, moderate bitterness, medium body and a nice, spicy, fruity aftertaste. A bit unusually, but nice and refreshing.

25/11/2010 - 75cl bottle @ horeca expo 2010

Cloudy light amber coloured beer, little white head. Aroma: malts, grasses, spices, some hops. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Soft creamy texture. Taste: first sweet malts, then some spices, hop bitters and fruits. Aftertaste: fruity, citrus fruits, hop dryness. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this beer.

Note: I also had another sample from a bottle with yellow label, with lots of American hops. It was even better, but alas no tasting notes. :(

Tasted this at a special tasting session at Café Buitenlust, Oirschot, given by Benito. It’s quite an experience to drink this one. A colour i hadn’t seen before, very luxurious glasses. Doesn’t have to much of a smell except for something sweetish, honey like. Some people loved it, but to me it was a bit to watery and lacking in taste. Special one though.
