La Volpina: nel suo splendido colore si scorgono i riflessi del rubino. E’ ricca di profumi e di spezie per una sensazione calda che avvolge il palato e lo conquista con un finale rotondo e persistente.

This Italian version of an English Strong Ale has a light aroma and light brown color. The taste is simple but elegant on the tip of your tongue with an abrupt end on the palate. Stick to Italian wines as this beer isn’t that great!

750ml bottle served in a tulip glass. A: Pours a deep amber color. Copper. Forms a beautiful bubbled yellow head. Medium retention and lots of small and spotty lacings in the glass S: Strong toffee, caramel malts, English style grassy and flowery hops T: Slightly sweet upfront. Strong notes of toffee, caramel malts, grassy and skunky hops, roasted malts. Bready yeasts. Nice hoppy bitter end M: Medium body and carbonation. Bitter, caramel malts aftertaste O: Good drinkability. New generation Italian microbrewery quality [ BA Review @ 3/31/2013 ]

"looks like this red ale has been repackaged (still an attractive flip-top 500 ml bottle, but a different label) as Aprecchio Red Ale. Nice presentation, and although it’s not a spectacular beer, if your in the mood for a nice, dark red, nutty, malty brew...this could be it. Hit the spot. Definitely caramel & roasted malt heavy, but a bit of noble hops in there for balance as well. Imported in CA and sold at Trader Joe’s."

Bottle gifted by a friend, however I think the bottle is rather out of date and the beer past it’s best so hard to make a judgement on what it’s ’meant’ to taste like. Pours a very muddy red-amber colour, very malty nose, and a thinnish malty flavour. Would love to find a fresher bottle and re-rate.

Bottle at Caffe Berry, Sliema. It pours clear red-amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet, sticky, candied orange, wood, caramel, and marmalade The taste is crisp, bitter, woody, varnish, leather, light alcohol, varnish, orange peel andwaxy lemon with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Not too bad.

Swing top bottle, 0.50l. Clear amber color wth medium off-white head, good lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of caramel, bread, yeast, candy sugar and wood. Taste starts with moderate sweet caramel malt and toffee, follows by mild fruity and woody sourness with mild bitter finish. Medium body, syrupy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Nice addition to Amarcord collection...

A little skrarp Italian attempts english strong ale with a fine foam. Pleasant malty flavor.

Shared a 50cl bottle. Pours a dark amber colour with a thin white head. Aroma is bread, citrus and toffee. Soft carbonation and medium body. Taste is slightly more bitter than sweet. Overall, a beer a bit boring and with not much of a personality, but quite drinkable.

Flott flaske!
