La Volpina: nel suo splendido colore si scorgono i riflessi del rubino. E’ ricca di profumi e di spezie per una sensazione calda che avvolge il palato e lo conquista con un finale rotondo e persistente.

This Italian version of an English Strong Ale has a light aroma and light brown color. The taste is simple but elegant on the tip of your tongue with an abrupt end on the palate. Stick to Italian wines as this beer isn’t that great!

Aroma - toffee and toasted barley malt. Appearance - the body is a deep russet brown. The head is very small about 1/4" and beige and settles into a foam. Some lacing. Taste - has a mix of light toffee and lightly roasted barley. Has a slight wooden flavor. Palate - medium body, slightly creamy texture, the carbonation is flat, the finish has a woody quality; soaks the gums tannic in nature.

500ml bottle - thanks Elvira
Super malty aroma, malt loaf.Taste also sweet malt loaf. Pretty flat palate.Finish has dry hops. Dark reddy brown. Briefish head. Dryish nutty finish. A bit rough, but does fulfill my desires for a malt-based beverage. Malt loaf everywhere, but I love malt loaf.

Bottle, 50cL. Home. A mahogany opaque beer with a foamy off-white head ; medium retention. Roast, light caramel nose, fruit (prune, fig), light herb and biscuit. Medium sweet, light to medium bitter ; nice fresh feeling ; pretty round ; 1-directional. Medium body, average creamy texture, average carbonation, roasty sweet lasting finish. Overall, a good italian roasty bittersweet ale ; nice texture.
