2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 Spab (1194) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 10, 2011
341 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits. Pours a nearly clear golden colour with the thinnest of white caps. Aroma is quite mild and has some wheat and light fruitiness. Taste is modestly wheaty with a hint of fruit. Body is on the light side of medium. Rather flat carbonation. Quite bland for a supposed wit.

Bottle. Hazy bright gold with a short lived white head. Estery wheaty aroma. Estery wheaty palate, lemon peel tartness and acidity, no real spiciness. Pretty bland really.

yeloow colour with hazy look. Aromas of belgian esters, almost nutmeg like but has a real lem/fruity note as well as a sweet aroma. Palate is medium bodied, some nice creamy note medium finish. overall a nice everyday style of belgian white.

341ml bottle. Light golden pour with a small white head that laces out quickly. Classic orange peel and spice on the nose, but both are subdued. There’s a little yeasty character in there too, but overall not much to write home about. Very clean in the mouth with a distinct sugary note through the midpalate but the flavours are as understated as the nose. A little thin on the palate too with no crispness. Nothing bad here, just nothing stands out.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 Rastacouere (5918) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - APR 19, 2011
A lasting white ring thrones over the hazy pale golden hue. Lime zest and wheat occupy a fair share of the aroma, but the coriander is the dominating feature, feeling green and almost grassy, spicy and milky. Fairly citric flavour profile as lime remains important, but it evolves toward an unripe banana original profile. Agressive carbonation makes the mouthfeel foamy and prickly and removes a bit from the otherwise fresh wheatiness. The finish is all-coriander, bringing a green, leafy spiciness that almost replaces grassy hops. A tart and grainy example that would be more interesting if it were not straight coriander juice.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 GarnotingPete (357) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 20, 2011
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 Metalchopz (1427) - Quebec, CANADA - OCT 6, 2010
Purchased in Quebec City and came in a mixed 12-pack with 2 bottles each of their MB "classique" line. Pours a cloudy golden-beige colour with a big white creamy-foam head that dissipates very slowly and creates great thick lacing all around. Very nice tiny bubbles and slow carbonation. Big citrus aroma with some mild witbier yeast and notes of bananas from the wheat. Medium-light body that is watery and a bit oily (but no stickiness to it). Mild taste of wheat grain, banana and caramel with a touch of coriander in the finish. Not trying to be a out-of-this-world witbier, but more of a refreshing one. Succeeded, but just lacking a bit of bite for me (when I know there is better out there from Quebec in this category).
