Bottle, 341 ml. Smoky, you said? That’s almost an understatement! Dark red/light brown color with a medium head. Aroma: Really smoky. I usually like it, but this time, it is a little too much. A little caramel, but it is hard to smell or taste it. Palate: very watery. Despite this, a fairly enjoyable beer!
Bouteille, 341 ml. Fumée, vous dites? C’est le moins qu’on puisse dire! Robe rouge foncée/brune pâle. Arôme: Très fumée, un peu trop. Cela rend difficile la perception du goût de caramel. Malgré cela, une assez bonne bière!

341 ml bottle. I’m not a big fan of smoked beer but this one was actually quite good in my opinion. Pours pale brown color with a thin white head. Smoked malt but balanced by a good caramelish sweetness. Average bitterness, medium finish.

341ml bottle from jsprime. pours deep red with huge chunky floaties and a small tan head. typical vauge rousse aroma, kinda a smattered malt with a hint of iodine. the flavour is similar, the smoke shows more but the base beer doesntseem very well defined. ugly to look at and only semi interesting to drink.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur cuivrée foncée et claire. Nez de malt fumé (jambon fumé, notes de bacon et de fumée de bois) et légèrement rôti avec des notes de caramel et de houblon herbeux ainsi que de faibles traces fruitées (cerises). Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-bas et une texture aux notes crémeuses. Goût de malt fumé (léger de jambon fumé, notes de fumée de bois) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un léger goût de caramel et un très léger goût de malt rôti ainsi des de faibles traces de pain puis en finale l’on retrouve une très légère amertume de houblon herbeux. Post-goût moyen et aux petites notes sèches, légèrement amer de houblon herbeux avec des notes rôties et fumées.

341 ml bottle from Premier Wine and Spirits (Halifax). Pours a hazy orangeish brown with modest-sized tan head. Aroma is smoky caramel malt and a little spiciness. Flavour is a meaty smokiness with underlying caramel still present and a light spiciness. Decent.

Bottle. Beautiful red brown with a tan head. Sweetly smoky aroma, a little meaty, very subtle underlying peaty caramel. Palate delivers the same sweet smokiness but in the correct balance to allow appreciation of the underlying fruity caramel. Finishes dry. Very nice.

A fairly carbonated but cloudy brew offering a red/brown colour. Aromas of hickory smoke, wooden casks and some floral notes as well. Has a bitter mid palate and is actually quite drinkable despite all the hickory and bacon fat notes.

UPDATED: MAR 30, 2012 341ml bottle. Opaque mahogany colour. Aroma is smoked salmon? Taste is less fishy with smoke, malt and just a little bitterness. Carbonation is quite low, body is medium.

Mahogany colour with a thin white head and lace. Slight smoked, roasted malt aroma. Smoked malt flavour. Rich texture with smoked hints lasting all the way to the end. Thin body and finish.

Superbe bière cuivrée sous un généreux col beige et mousseux laissant une délicate dentelle au verre. Des arômes intenses et complexes de fumée et de grains grillés. Un goût facsinant d’umami qui termine une subtile amertume. Ronde et veloutée, elle est animée d’une délicate effervescenece nous laissant sur une finale agréablement arômatique.
