COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Created by our first Master Brewer, Mr. Charles Schlaffer, this beer is brewed to an original recipe dating back to 1901. With its subtle aromas of liquorice and caramel it is gentle to the palate, whilst the barley and sugarcane content ensures a smooth but firm body.

Pours dark black with tan head that lasts. Nose is heavy on roasted malt. Taste is a restrained roast flavor, some breadiness, a hint of brown sugar, and some light European hop bitterness. Slightly heavy finish; not much aftertaste at all really. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Moderate foam. It is brewed from an old recipe from 1901 developed by the brewery’s first brewmaster Charles Schlaffer. Fine aroma of little licorice. The taste is also slightly licorice and dark rye bread. Along with dark caramel and roasted malt are left with an flavor spectrum with great palate. Sweetness level this time is kept at an appropriate level, unlike the other two beers I have tasted so far from this brewery. A dark lager should like to have a reasonably high sweetness and that is exactly what Ambar Negra has, however, without being too intrusive. Hop bitterness is present, but only so that it forms a fine balance in the beer and gives a long aftertaste. It is not a dark lager that tops what I previously tasted of the same type, but definitely the best from La Zaragozana to date.

Espuma beige oscura, poco duradera.
