Created by our first Master Brewer, Mr. Charles Schlaffer, this beer is brewed to an original recipe dating back to 1901. With its subtle aromas of liquorice and caramel it is gentle to the palate, whilst the barley and sugarcane content ensures a smooth but firm body.

Nice black appearance with thin creamy head. A fairly simple but inoffensive beer with obvious caramel notes in the aroma and taste. Has a light tartness in the finish.

330 ml bottle @ Sevilla Turku
Deep amber to cola brown beer with little blonde head. Aroma has sweet tiramisu cake, roasted malts and earthiness. Flavor is dry sour breadish, sweet malty with a bit dry mämmi. Palate is watery, sparkling and thin. Finish has a light bite of bitterness leaving aftertaste of earthiness and maltiness. A bit disappointing.

Drinkable but a bit dull and one sided schwarzbier. Body is quite thin and finish is short.

330ml bottle, very dark brown colour, medium beige frothy mostly lasting head, good lacing. Moderately malty roasted aroma of coffee molasses and a hint of chocolate, light to moderate resiny hops. Taste is initially sweetish, turning into a moderately bitter finish with a slightly astringent feel. Full body, oily texture, lively carbonation. Quite a pleasant and balanced schwarz, could’ve had a more intense and deep aroma though.

Due to a social interaction I have just very limited amount of attributes listed: starch, sweet bread, bit metal.

Flaske 0,33l fra Alko Muonio. Drukket i Skibotn 11 Aug 13. Sort. Pent - litt farget skum som varer en stund. Aroma av sjokolade. Smaken er søt sjokolade med en undertone av malt. Svakt syrlig avslutning.

Bottled 330ml. -from El Corte Inglés Madrid. Black coloured, medium sized beige head, lactic nose. Roasted malt, slightly smoked, dried fruits and milk chocolate with slight roasty finish. Not bad but pretty one-dimensional.

An almost black color with a little, thin white head. Aroma of sweet dark maltiness with caramel and sugary notes -- a bit like dark Czech lagers - and some licorice and rye bread. Taste is medium sweet with maltiness forming the background to flavours such as caramel, cane sugar and licorice. Also some roasty notes appear. Dry, short and very light bitter finish. Palate is light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Nothing special, but no clear flaws either in this sweetish Spanish schwarzbier.
