COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Cask; Regular.
Created for a non real-ale drinking landlady we tweaked our Stout, adding yet more chocolate malt and Curacao orange peel to the boil. We add lots of vanilla pods during fermentation and yet more orange is added into each cask, followed by a long slow maturation. A traditional with a twist!

Cask at the NWAF, 2012. Black pour with a beige head. Very sweet nose. Citrus-chocolate flavour. Not much else really.

GBBF. Cask. Light soft palate, very slightly dry. Soft chocolate - not dark and not sweet. Strong orange flavour, blends in pretty well. A bit of a Cadburys Chocolate Orange without the sweetness. Crisp finish.

[Cask at Chippenham Beer Festival] Black with a loose beige head. Aroma of - yes, definitely Terry’s Chocolate Orange (the milk chocolate one). Dry and very thin in the mouth with orange, vanilla, some green leaves, and an unfortunate blast of bleach with roast malt arriving late in the day. A beer to buy for friends for comedy’s sake, but not one I would want to drink again - too thin and too much bleach. c10

On cask at the 2012 NWAF, Manchester. Pours a black colour with a decent light tan head. Huge orange oil character without being soapy. Chocolate, Cointreau and caramel characters. Moderate carbonation and quite dry with an oily mouth-feel. Not bad.

Cask - The Fat Cat, Norwich. Fine & loose bubbly light tan head; black/opaque brown body. Chocolate & roasted malt aromas with a touch of orange. Nice & bitter dark chocolate with a restrained, sweet orange tone that becomes more prominent on the end palate. Like a beer representation of Terrys. Light to medium body, medium length dark chocolate bitterness, light orange tang & a mostly soft palate texture.

Cask @ 2nd Saltburn Beer Festival. A black colored beer, with a beige head. The aroma sweet fruity orange, with some hints of coffee. The taste of bitter coffee, with orange notes. In the back dry bitter with a little perfum. The aftertaste is very bitter with notes of sweet.

Cask conditioned at The Talbot (Amber Ales Brewery Tap), Ripley Derby’s. Black with tan head. A real horror story this one, thin, tart, vinegary. The chocolate malt and orange didn’t appear. Crikey.

Cask at Euston Tap. Pours black, with minimal thin off white head. Nose is orange juice. Fresh orange juice. Taste is fresh orange juice coming through very strongly. On the finish you then get chocolate, vanilla and malt sweetness. Body and mouthful is light, more like a porter.
