Strong dark beer of the porter famili, characterised by a full taste and rich aroma. Perfect with gourmet desserts, and especially dark chocolate. 18.1 P

500 ml. bottle - Pours brown to black with a nice tan head, lacework is good, the aroma is chocolate malts and very European, what is it about beers from over there, they all have a similar aroma. The flavor is yet again very European, strong chocolate malts, mild bitterness, actually pretty good, whats with all the average reviews here. Carbonation is spot on, creamy coffee chocolatey texture, medium bodied, tastes pretty good to me. My porters, especially baltic porters I prefer a little heavier, but this aint bad.

Bottle at Delaney’s. Not an Imperial Porter as advertised. Black body with no head. Carbonation significant. Tad below average mouthfeel. SOurness to it, but also some roast and chocolate. Drinkable, but not very. The distributor called this a summer porter.

(bottle at Sean’s Unibroue tasting). Pours a tootsie roll color with rapidly dissapating off-white head. Aroma is of tootsie roll. Taste is sweet. Medium bodied and oily mouthfeel. This is a tasty sweet baltic porter.

Bottle from ajs. Poured a dark brown color with a light brown head. Aroma of fruit, caramel, coffee and cocoa. A complex, if not super great aroma. Quite drinkable initially and blended in flavor. Pretty sweet and fruity. Got a bit worse and boring with time, as it lost complexity.

(500ml bottle thanks to ericandersnavy) clearish dark brown, ruby highlights, creamy tan head. Nose of raisin, Brown sugar, caramel, and sweet cream. Taste of very roasty grains, burnt raisin, toasty sweet and delicious. Creamy somewhat viscous body with a linger of raisin.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Deep chocolate brown with a cream head. Nose is caramel, raisins, chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate chip cookie. Nice on the palate, flavor is pretty much the same as the nose but, more fruity and more caramel.

Bottle. Opaque black-brown. Fizzy brown head does not last. Rich aroma smells strong. Chocolate liqeur. Has a rather thin feel for a pretty big beer. The flavors are mellow and none too complex. Just some nice coffee and chocolate liqueur or like 65% chocolate. Not a wow beer but highly drinkable and tasty.

finally scored this at tops. 3/18/2010. clear. dark typical normal porter color with a large orange tinted pale brown head. aromas of coffee, burnt raisins, chocolate, cream, mild roastiness, spice, dry herbaceous and grassy hops... it makes me think of chocolate malt powder. the palate is a bit sweet but not yet cloying. the sweetness is also missing some balance... flavors include big time coffee (especially in the aftertaste), chocolate cremes, molasses, caramel, toffee and malt with a mild bitterness on the finish. it is medium to thin bodied with a prickly texture and simultaneously creamy and rich. it feels like it is missing some dimension. 7/3/7/3/14/3.4

Dark brown. Decent head. Chewy aroma with molasses and other dark sugars. Very sweet, with some sugary notes, light raisin accent. Soft, interesting beer with good character.
