3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
500 ml bottle that brags about containing the "quintessence or the black beer flavour." It’s a rich beer, no doubt, though not impy stout rich. Chocolate malt and the usual dark beer stuff. Moderate roastiness to it, and perhaps a touch of smoke. What didn’t do it for me was the notes of anise, which admittedly isn’t unheard of for the style. So i think it’s a bit overrated.

Courtesy of Armando629, thanks! Poured dark brown with a beige, lacing, creamy head. Plum, roasted malts, licorice, ash, molasses, hints of burnt wood in the aroma. Medium dense, oily body, medium carbonation. Sweet taste and aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden. Good one!

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Looks good, great head formation and retention, nice and slippery, medium body, very dark, great contrasting head. Smell has raisin and roastiness, sweetness in the smell never gets out of control. Iron and earthy molasses in there. The flavor, though, still is a touch too sweet for my liking - it may be perfectly tradition (and I’d say it is close!) but it doesn’t develop the naturalness that is in the aroma very well, instead veering towards a one-dimensional wet fermented raisin, fruitcake and cinnamon bread quality, with a touch too much alcohol. Bummer, too, as this is clearly a good beer. One of the best in Poland? Not so sure...

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
16 ounce bottle. I think this was purchased at Corti Brothers in Sacramento, CA. Aroma is sweet, chocolatey, musty, with some molasses and burnt tires, too. A bit oxidized. Nice. Moderately transparent mahogany body with a medium tan head that is pretty strong. Wow...this is pretty decadent stuff. Starts with some sweet molasses goodness, before it becomes a little oxidized in the middle with hints of cardboard. Finishes with some sweet, sugary chocolate maltiness. Ethanol is hidden nicely. There is a velvety body to this, which makes it extremely drinkable. Now this is what I call a Baltic Porter!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Solid representation of a great style. The aroma is chocolate, molasses, vegetable, earth. The appearance is a lovely jet black, ample light tan head. The flavor is chocolate, molasses, fruity. Slight departure from aroma. The finish is mostlt sweet, with a slight hop bittering, like noble hops. The body is medium, a little thinner than expected. Very nice beer, very reasonable price.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Pours a dark black color with a tan head that diminishes quickly. The nose is minerally and dry with roast and chocolate. Nice toasted quality and an eastern european tasting profile. Sweeter in the flavor and easy drinking. Very traditional baltic porter.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
500 ml. bottle - Pours brown to black with a nice tan head, lacework is good, the aroma is chocolate malts and very European, what is it about beers from over there, they all have a similar aroma. The flavor is yet again very European, strong chocolate malts, mild bitterness, actually pretty good, whats with all the average reviews here. Carbonation is spot on, creamy coffee chocolatey texture, medium bodied, tastes pretty good to me. My porters, especially baltic porters I prefer a little heavier, but this aint bad.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Delaney’s. Not an Imperial Porter as advertised. Black body with no head. Carbonation significant. Tad below average mouthfeel. SOurness to it, but also some roast and chocolate. Drinkable, but not very. The distributor called this a summer porter.
