Light roasted aroma, nice brownish head. Roasted taste of liquorice and roasted malts. Alc is easily disguised.

courtesy of Toni Flükiger - almost black beer with a rubish hue; chaotic foam left; earthy, chocolatey and slightly buttery nutty aroma; velvety mouthfeel and full-bodied, low bitterness and long malty earthy and chocolatey finish - pretty nice

Bottle. Pours nearly black, slightly translucent, quarter-finger khaki head. Thin appearance. Odd nose: fresh grape juice (no, seriously), smoked malts, hint of chocolate. Grape is toned down greatly for the taste, with some more chocolate, burnt toffee, hint of blackberry. Soft carbonation, somewhat oily, fleeting mouthfeel. Odd bird.

Bottled. Very dark brown, beige head. Rich aroma of licorice and dark bread. Full bodied with soft mouthfeel. Rich flavours of tobacco, licorice and brandy. I have often wondered what a Polish porter from a brewery that makes good lagers would taste like, when even the worst brewers do decent porters. This is the answer - excellent!
3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Davros (1477) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - JAN 24, 2012
Pours ruby-tinged brown with a large, quickly fading head.
Nose shows roasted malt, chocolate liqueur, booze, soft vegemite.
Flavours are less roasty, much sweeter. Lots of toasty melanoidin malt and faint chocolate. Too sweet for my liking though.
Could use much more carbonation, very syrupy body.

UPDATED: DEC 15, 2011 500ml bottle. Thick blackish-brown, with a massive beige-brown head. The aroma is sweet and sugary, some fruit laced chocolate. Not really that great of a beer, rather thin and lacks depth, and is too strong to really session and enjoy. Lots of prune notes, like you mixed chocolate milk and prune juice. I really get no hop character. Sweet, malt extract taste. Not unlike a sweet Dunkel or Caribbean Stout in it’s overwhelming fruity chocolate sugariness, but this is a Mocne at heart. Not one I’d buy again.

500mL bottle. Poured slightly cloudy medium brown with a short, tight-bubbled khaki head. The aroma picked up lots of warm, deep, sweet sugars.. honey, maple, and molasses notes led.. touches of orange peel and spruce accented.. a touch of warmth. but the boozage remained well masked by the sweets.. way over-sweetened, but I was feeling that tonight. The flavor found the same sweet sugars, but in similar proportions.. a touch smoky too.. a little grainy bitterness around.. nothing spectacular, but I’d probably drink it again. Medium-bodied, and mightily sweet on the palate.. flowed well through the mouth.. solid brew.
4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 mrmarrow (10) - Toruń, POLAND - DEC 4, 2011
chocolate, coffee, nuts, a tint of alcohol,
black, hazy, rocky head, tan foam,
light sweetness, medium bitterness, full body, creamy, long finish...
One of the best beers made by polish brewers!
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Firefly54 (150) - - NOV 30, 2011
Pours jet black with a thick cappachino coloured head. Smells like a dark chocolate fudge brownie. A bit of dank earthiness in there. Nice medium thick mouthfeel but not cloying. Dark chocolate, vanilla and a little red fruit in there. Not picking up much malt and no hop flavours. Not overly sweet but would go well with clotted cream ice cream covered in chocolate sauce. Almost more like a strong chocolate beer than a porter.
