A sugar bomb of a strong porter. Like dessert in a glass. A pint is way too much dessert for my taste. It would pair pretty well with chocolate cake or a mousse but on its own those sugars are overwhelming. Looks good: lush, pillowy head with a dark body. First sniff and I’m anticipating a sugar monster - very sweet. Dominated by molasses. Also marshmallows and some of those hard candy necklaces. First sip and it’s sweet alright. All I can taste is brown sugar. Bit of chocolate, spoonful of treacle, handful of raisins, faint alcoholic burn. No complexity, no subtlety - just liquid sugar. Lightly carbonated - under-done in my book. It’s not that it’s badly made, it’s just that it’s well-made in the sense that Coca-Cola or a Krispy Kreme doughnut is well made - if you can stomach either of those you’ll probably love this. (Pint bottle from Leura Cellars. BB 27/11/14)

Piana opada do zera, barwa czarna.

Bottle (50cl): Thanks Geophagus: Served in a Chouffe glass at 13 degrees Celsius: Deep dark blackish brown/black ruby in light source. Medium sized creamy beige brown head. Aromas of roast, cream, raisin, malt roast, prunes, sweet coal, hint of brown sugars, herbal roast, some bay leaf/liquorice... Flavours of roast, bitters, malt and herbal roast, chocollate, coffee, bay leaf, some brown sugars, sweet coal, light lacto, delicious stuff! Aftertaste is a mix of roast, bitters, chocolate, bay leaf, light coffee and light cream. Low carbo, creamy mouthfeel, more than medium to full bodied. Delicious stuff!

Black with ruby reflexes. Beige head disappears completely and almost instantly. In aroma there’s mainly alcohol with slight coffee and chocolate notes. There’s also some DMS, wet cardboard and phenols. Full body, too high carbonation. Oily, fat texture. Very sweet. Low bitterness.

Dark brown colour, lasting beige head. Not very strong smell of chocolate and alcohol. Taste is on the sweeter side, with roasted/burned nuances. Short, sweet finish. Would have liked a thicker body for such a dark beer. Enjoyable porter, but nothing special.

Bottle 500 ml. Aroma of dark chocolate and coffee, weaker than desired. Distinguished dark colour, decent beige head. The chocolate taste is too intense for me, I would prefer some more fruitiness instead. But still a good porter.

Piana: drobna, beżowa, migiem znika;
Aromat: rodzynki, rum, delikatna paloność-czekolada;
Smak: słodki, cukrowy wręcz, smak likieru, lekko wiśni w alkoholu, czekolady, posmak delikatnej kawy;
Odczucie: dosyć pełne, zalepiające, nasycone, nie czuć praktycznie alkoholu;
Ogólnie: strasznie słodkie, ale bogate.

Aroma: some chocolate, some coffe, come roasted bread. Not strong. Something’s wrong. Black or almost black. Minimal brown head. Taste: Well. this is something. Chocolate, some coffe, roasted bread. As for Baltic porter good sweetnes, medium bitternes. This is how Baltic porter taste. Full body, nice finish. Great beer, nr 2 on my list of polish baltic porters. It deserves higher rating, but aroma is just not that good... :( Although I prefer it more than Komes Porter and way more than Żywiec porter. Really impressive as for 18 P, some 21 are not quite as good and intensive.

Black with rubin reflex. The head is ugly, large air bubbles. Milk chocolate, dark bread, caramel in the aroma. Middle carbonation, chocolate and some coffe. It’s too sweet for me but It doesn’t mean that is poorly balanced. Nice dessert beer for this price. Na zdrowie!
