imdownthepub (12161) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 26, 2009
Bottled, 500ml at The Katedra Pub, Krakow. Black with tan head. Thick treacle tarry beer enjoyed in a distinctly odd pub, there is coffee, roasty notes with chocolate bitterness, alcohol and liquorice. Champagne Supernova by Oasis was being played and it seemed entirely in keeping, this seemed like a Supernova and took me ages to get through.

Bottle @ YNWA, Kolding.
Pours lovely, clear redish black with a small, staying, creamy, beige head. Aroma is roasted, mild chocolate, soft liqourice. Medium carboantion, nicely dry, fairly creamy yet still light. Flavour has dark chocolate, light liqourice, hazelnut, softly vinious. Light ashy roasted dry in the finish. Mid-palate has a lovely fat caramel feel like English Barleywines. Very good.

500 mL bottle from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, raisins, chocolate, earthy notes. The taste is cherries, raisins, chocolate, roasted malts, anise and a faint hoppy finish. Medium-full bodied, soft carbonation and a faint bit of booze. Nice.

Bov (11155) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - APR 21, 2012
courtesy of Toni Flükiger - almost black beer with a rubish hue; chaotic foam left; earthy, chocolatey and slightly buttery nutty aroma; velvety mouthfeel and full-bodied, low bitterness and long malty earthy and chocolatey finish - pretty nice

Bottle at Delaney’s. Not an Imperial Porter as advertised. Black body with no head. Carbonation significant. Tad below average mouthfeel. SOurness to it, but also some roast and chocolate. Drinkable, but not very. The distributor called this a summer porter.

500ml bottle. PO 3/5. A gusher. It pours a dark black with ruby on the edges and a foamy tan head. The smell is basically chocolate milk with some dark fruit. The flavor continues this flavor. I think this is a beer that would appeal to a large audience. It is mildly roasty and mostly just like a really decadent chocolate dessert or cake.
