3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: AUG 30, 2014 500ml bottle (Małe Piwo, Warsaw) - Shared with SRPOL - thanks! (6:5:6:4:13=3.4)
Soft sweet dark roast aroma. This is so much like Saku Porter from the olden days it’s not true. Absolutely classic Baltic porter. Lovely full roast, a bit sweet, and smooth in the palate. Not quite as much character as the previous two (Komes and Kormoran), but still great - really looks the part in particular.
Rerate: 500ml bottle (?, Poland) (6:5:6+:4:14=3.5+)
Sweet and rich, smooth, and full. Nice roast. Again, does remind me of the old Saku Porters. Dear Carlsberg, please drink one of these, and then get whichever facility brews your now-pathetic porter to do something like this. Maybe a bit too sweet, but truly a delicious baltic porter, great for the end of an evening or session.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
courtesy of Toni Flükiger - almost black beer with a rubish hue; chaotic foam left; earthy, chocolatey and slightly buttery nutty aroma; velvety mouthfeel and full-bodied, low bitterness and long malty earthy and chocolatey finish - pretty nice

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500 mL bottle from Total Wine West Richmond, VA. Pours a dark brown color with a medium tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malts, raisins, chocolate, earthy notes. The taste is cherries, raisins, chocolate, roasted malts, anise and a faint hoppy finish. Medium-full bodied, soft carbonation and a faint bit of booze. Nice.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Delaney’s. Not an Imperial Porter as advertised. Black body with no head. Carbonation significant. Tad below average mouthfeel. SOurness to it, but also some roast and chocolate. Drinkable, but not very. The distributor called this a summer porter.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
500ml from Bestillingsutvalget, Vinmonopolet. Lots of small dimples to a frothy and fawn coloured head, displaying a solid stand. Deeply, near-black in the glass with a brownish shade if held to the light. Aroma of dark malts, containing coffee and anise. Fine blended flavour of dark chocolate and earthy malts with an integrated backdrop of dark fruits. Subdued sweetness and alcohol. Gets a bit grainy after an hour in the glass, otherwise well rounded to the palate and pleasant to drink (Tromsř, 10.04.2010).

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle. PO 3/5. A gusher.
It pours a dark black with ruby on the edges and a foamy tan head.
The smell is basically chocolate milk with some dark fruit.
The flavor continues this flavor. I think this is a beer that would appeal to a large audience. It is mildly roasty and mostly just like a really decadent chocolate dessert or cake.
