Half liter bottle pours a perfect mahogany with thick mocha head. The aroma offers up blueberry, concord grape jam, a bit of roast, a bit of earthiness and then some chocolate. The taste is just down right yummy and it only seems to get better the more I consume. It starts with blueberry, and concord grape like in the nose and also heads into some malt roastiness, a nice level of earthiness and then some chocolate brownie. Wow! Love it. It finishes with a thin layer of chocolate blueberry nectar sweetness and lingering earthiness and malt roastiness. Damn and only $2.59 for a half liter bottle.

BückDich (5467) - McCall, Idaho, USA - SEP 9, 2010
Bottle: Pours a dark black color with a tan head that diminishes quickly. The nose is minerally and dry with roast and chocolate. Nice toasted quality and an eastern european tasting profile. Sweeter in the flavor and easy drinking. Very traditional baltic porter.

Hansen (5432) - Assentoft, DENMARK - APR 20, 2011
Bottle at Nordic tasting. (-sort of). Dark, almost black. Has an off-white head, mostly lasting. Aroma is dark, malty, dark bread, laqurice, not enough salt though. Flavor starts sweet, then light acid, then moderate bitter.

larsga (5324) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 8, 2010
Big brown lasting head. Barely translucent dark red body. Roasty earthy aroma with chocolatey milk notes. Sweet earthy licorice and caramel taste with papery chocolate notes. Fullish body. Mild, normal mouthfeel. Sweet-dryish chocolatey coffee aftertaste with nutty nougat and toffee notes. Some alcohol notes, too. Not bad, but a bit too sweet. With more bitter hops this could be great. (0.5l bottle, wine monopoly.)

500. pours jet black with a massive, surging, dense, creamy tan head. thick sheets of lace. chocolate, brown sugar, tawny port, and co2 on the nose. creamy medium body, seems a little undercarbonated, even for such a big beast. nice and thick and silky though. port, chocolate, and carbon dioxide on the mid palate. longish mildly sweet finish. a little imbalanced to the sweet side, but still drinkable. great body, but some variety to the specialty malts and some more carbonation would bring this into fine shape.

DuffMan (5187) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - APR 20, 2009
Bottle. Pours brown with golden highlights. Raisin bread and chocolate nose. Flavours of chocolate, bread crusts, and treacle. Quite sweet really, and low on bitterness. The ABV is entirely hidden.

KnutAlbert (5186) - Oslo, NORWAY - APR 22, 2010
(Polish Embassy, Oslo) Lovely dark beer, firm brown head. Milk chocolate, malt, a hint of dryness. Latte. Too much of the sweet milk for me, some smoke or bitterness would have lifted it.
