deep dark brown with a tight moussy tan head that rises proud out of my Duvel glass. looks like souffle quite intriguing, might have to award a 5 for appearance for the first time. aroma is bread and chocolate. bread choc and sweet flavours with an smooth counter bitterness. its prety good without being great.

Bottle. Pours black with nice tan head. Super sweet aromas of caramel & toffee. Also a little alcohol. Flavours are very sweet once again with heaps of caramel, toffee and treacle. Some alcohol to the finish. Mouthfeel is very syrupy,

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Pours dark brown/black, but it has ruby notes when viewed against light. Three-finger foamy tan head. Aroma of really darkly roasted malt with perhaps anise and/or chocolate. The nose is a little complicated. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is smooth dark roasted malt. It is sweet. Nutty. Dark fruit. Cough syrup. Chocolate and dates or figs. Lots going on. Finishes dark, rather syrupy and sweet. Nice winter drink.

Had a bottle of this last night. Colour... garnet-brown with a thick head. Nose... funky and rather musty! Palate... smooth, creamy, more like a bock than what I think of when I think of a porter! Caramel, butter toffee, sweetly malty, nice stuff but not an imperial porter!

Flaske 0,5 l fra bestillingsutvalget til Vinmonopolet. Dyp dyp rřdbrun. Nesten svart. Et lavt lysebrunt skum. Innbydende sjokoladepreget aroma. Smaken er svakt sřtlig med innslag av sjokolade. Kaffesmaken dominerer etterhvert sammen med en anelse bitterhet. Velbalansert. KI=6

(500ml bottle thanks to ericandersnavy) clearish dark brown, ruby highlights, creamy tan head. Nose of raisin, Brown sugar, caramel, and sweet cream. Taste of very roasty grains, burnt raisin, toasty sweet and delicious. Creamy somewhat viscous body with a linger of raisin.

Bottle: Pours a dark black color with a tan head that diminishes quickly. The nose is minerally and dry with roast and chocolate. Nice toasted quality and an eastern european tasting profile. Sweeter in the flavor and easy drinking. Very traditional baltic porter.

500. pours jet black with a massive, surging, dense, creamy tan head. thick sheets of lace. chocolate, brown sugar, tawny port, and co2 on the nose. creamy medium body, seems a little undercarbonated, even for such a big beast. nice and thick and silky though. port, chocolate, and carbon dioxide on the mid palate. longish mildly sweet finish. a little imbalanced to the sweet side, but still drinkable. great body, but some variety to the specialty malts and some more carbonation would bring this into fine shape.
