Strong dark beer of the porter famili, characterised by a full taste and rich aroma. Perfect with gourmet desserts, and especially dark chocolate. 18.1 P

Deep black, big tan head. Chocolate and coffee in the aroma with some sour undertones, semi-sweet chocolate, coffee and a lovely malt backbone. Quite good.

Bottle. This is the second Polish beer I’ve rated, and one of the few I’ve ever drunk before. As such, this is pretty exotic! :-) It pours a near-black body with a reddish hue, covered by a quickly dissipating light caramel head. The nose gives me manure (first time ever, but in a pleasant way), roasted malts and hints of peanut and cocoa butter. And something else, something I haven’t had in a long time now...what is it...damn, I know this...help me out here, brain - think, think... Ah! I got it! Miso! It smells of the Japanese fermented soy paste "miso"! Amazing. How did they do that? This is like a discovery journey into another beer continent. And then, the first sip: mmmm...salty licorice, sweet dark malts and a mild hint of soil. Some miso in there, as well. This is the most interesting beer I’ve had in a while. Rather drinkable too, not much booze coming out of the 8 % ABV and the palate is light and simple. What a pleasant surprise, this is one highly recommended brew; particularly if you are a fan of Baltic Porters. Big ups to Poland, which I will be on the lookout for in the future.

Grand Imperial Porter Pours deep brown with a slight reddish tinge. Thick creamy tan head with medium retention and light lacing. Rich aroma of raisins, brown sugar and sweet malt. Dark chocolate undertones. Really flippin’ good smell. Flavor is a slightly subdued version of the aroma, but well balanced, with chocolate covered espresso beans as the best definer. Sweet malt, and a mild hop character round out the finish. Nice beer and will buy again.

Poured into an English pint glass. Color is jet black with a thick, frothy tan head. Aroma is chocolate, nuts, some alcohol and some smoke. Flavor starts off sweet with caramel and chocolate and finishes with a slight roasty bitterness and some alcohol. Palate is smooth with a medium body. Overall this is a very nice porter that is very sweet and has really nice chocolate notes.

bottle, kindly donated by Schroppfy - Thank you! Deep black colour, large and creamy beige head. Promising aroma of chocolate, cocoa powder and dark fruits. Full-bodied, intensiovely malty with loads and loads of bitter chocolate, cocoa powder, shy hints of caramel, nuts and raisins. Not sweet, yet very malty. Perfectly balanced, a delight!

Poured from the bottle. Right away I know this is not a regular porter. The aroma is weak even though this is an etched glass. Flavor is huge though and delicious. Dark chocolate, and coffee. Wow so delicious! Palate is thin and watery but finishes long and oily. This beer poured black with no head despite the etched glass. Overall this is delicious despite what it smells like.

Poured into a pint glass. About a finger of tan head formed on a dark brown, almost black body. The head held solidly. Smells of roasted malt, tinge of burnt barley, black licorice, and dry barn hay. Milky taste, toasted barley, strong black licorice and dark chocolate. Alcohol in the breath at the end. Texture is creamy and smooth. Low carbonation. Extremely well made and balanced. A dark profile without left up. The licorice might be too much for some.

50cl bottle. Dark brown, almost black with small tanned head. Nose : toffee, chocolate, cheese. Subtil burned malt aromas reminds of a fresh coffee. Sip : first of all the body is mild, medium density with creamy, smooth texture. Very pleasent to swallow. Sweet with strong toffee notes. Nicely burned malt flavor. Dairy feeling with some little aromatic hops in the aftertaste. The alcohol is well hidden. The beer is really nice.
