Cask@Reading BF. Quite a strong alcohol presence from the first whiff. Has some raw malt sweetness and again with the burning alcohol on the palate. Some citric, earthy hop notes. Too raw in character, not so good.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Benjii (2328) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JAN 21, 2012
On cask at the 2012 NWAF, Manchester. Pours a dark golden colour with a decent beige head. Aroma doesn’t suggest imperial ipa with alcohol, caramel and yeast. Very sweet flavour of candy sugar, caramel, biscuity malt and apple seed. Quite a dry finish but not hoppy enough to be an imperial ipa. Mild carbonation with a long sweet finish and a warming alcohol hum.

Cask at Euston Tap, London. An amber/gold coloured pour with a medium white head. Malty, hoppy aroma. Tastes malty, hoppy, sweet, some caramel, quite rich tasting. I enjoyed this one, it went down far too easily and was not what I expected.
