Cask conditioned at Merton beer Festival ’07. Copper colour with thin head. Dry, quite chalky, powdery malty body with a definite alcohol note despite the lowish ABV. I really tried to fit it into a Bock category, but failed, not really a bitter either but it had to go somewhere. Not much finish to it for me, obviosly too delicate for my palate, ho hum.

Cask, Flowerpot, Derby. Red with no head. Aromas are berry fruit with sweet malts. Flavours are sweet malts with red wine. Some toffee with yeast. Malty and OK.

A Sim rate (cask at Chelmsford BF): Smells very wheaty, but not great. Like bread on the verge of going off. Tastes similar. Aftertaste of olive oil.

Cask at Merton Summer Beer Festival 06-07-07. Poured copper in colour and with a slight sulphur nose. This had a strange taste a tiny edge of smokiness was there as was a very thin almost nothing taste for a bit, I’m not familiar with this style at all but will go with what Glen say’s that this isn’t really a true Bock, in truth it wasn’t really making an impact with me whatever box it needed to sit in, as it tasted far too shallow for my liking.
