Bottle. Light unclear medium brown color with a average to large, frothy / creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel / roasted,nutty, moderate yeasty, light brown sugar. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. (Nut bitternes). Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (151007)

A deep red beer with a beutiful beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of yeast, corriander, and plums. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of corriander and plums giving way to a dry hoppy end. The body is thin - especially considering the 8% ABV.

UPDATED: JAN 7, 2006 (Bottle 33 cl) Dark amber with a full and frothy head. Very dry, almost ashy flavours - far from the malty sweetness one would expect in a Dubbel. An odd sour finish almost reminiscent of Rodenbach although somehow not as quenching. An odd bird indeed. 301297
(Bottle 33 cl) As "Drongens Plezierke"Dark beer with a huge head. Soft and very malty notes in a nice balance with the hops. Very tasty and easy to drink - in spite of the alcohol. My kinda beer. 8/4/8/4/16= 4

33 cL bottle, as Ambiorix Bruin Bier. Pours clear and golden brown with a huge, slowly collapsing and tan head. Mild roasted and medium dry malt aroma. Mild sweet caramel malt flavoured, subdued yeast presence. Nice crisp caramel malt flavoured into the finish.

I sampled the unfiltered version bottled 1991 in 2001. Brownish red appearance. Acidic and vinuous, complex and well matured.

Bottled (as Drongens Plezierke). Dark brown/rubyish colour with small beige head. Aroma is malts, hops and some acidic fruits. Flavour has some bubblegu, in it along with the fruits. Quite different brew, but the bubblegummyness takes the flavour down a bit.

Bottle. Nice fruity and malty aroma. The flavour is also nice and malty, but a bit thin. Dark brown colour, small stable light brown head. Has some rather big floaties. Nice, but too anonymous.
