4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 DonMagi (5599) - bantervile, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 15, 2009
Bottle thanks to the bosses, BBD may 2007. Alroudn rating: This is one of the most refreshing new beers iv had in a while, in terms of a beer thats just unique. Its like someones made a flemish sour but with rochefort 6, but perhaps lacking the berry fruits. The acidity however it gets in there, makes it massivly drinkable, theres a cranbery sauce like dry woody punch with the darker malt and candy suagr all blending well to make somethign that i can only relate to the likes of dirty horse(but not as good). Excellent beer, id really really like to try this again.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 fiulijn (10000) - Como, ITALY - JAN 16, 2003
2 years old Beautiful ruby amber color; generous, creamy head. Malt aroma; caramel; light fruitness (cherry-like). Dry and sour taste, refreshing; malt (and a residual sweetness) with some fruity hint (light cherries...). I would rather define it as a Flemish Sour Ale.

Recommended by the staff (Shadi) at the Waterhuis, this was a nice brown ale that was hoppier than most. Good choice.

Deep dark reddish brown coloured with nice head. Fruity and spicy aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Sweet and fruity with spicy notes and some complexity. A very tasty brew.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2010 Bottle, in the shrine-like basement at De Bierloods. Dark and dubbelish with a creamy beige cap receding to a slick. Nose brazen Brett-like edge; Orvalish freshness peppered with pollen and floral hops. Getting rose, lily, lavender, farmyard. Trappist-like nuts and choc. Big yeast presence, blanket of horse. Chocolate, nuts, fresh bread. Slick dark Trappist character (Westmalle Dubbel?) with spontaneous touches. Got to get hold of another bottle of this.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Yves (1553) - Turnhout, BELGIUM - APR 2, 2008
Darker amber coloured beer with medium white head. Buttery little sour aroma. Full palate. Sweet, malty finish. Very much liked this one.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 MartinT (6150) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - MAY 23, 2004
Recurring Christmas spices around scurring berries and roastiness...Chocolatey virility overseeing candi sugar and alcoholic puerility...A very satisfying interpretation of the Belgian rich and spicy theme...
