3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Dranken Geers, upon recommendation of Duff (about 2 years old with a best before ’09).
Poured reddish brown with a thin beige head. Displayed some obvious signs of age but retained many of the aforementioned qualities I see below. Dark malts, slightly bready, some caramel/candi sugar sweetness and a hint of fruit. Had developed quite a strong brett character which was lovely, in fact it was like an Orval dubbel, although a tiny bit thin on the palate. I expected it to be ruined after sitting in my flat for two years but it was still really nice.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Botella, as "Drongens Plezierke". Unclear red-brown colour with a big beige head, lasting fairly well, ok lacing. Sweet fruity grape/wine lightly tart like bit alco aroma, pleasant. Good mouthfeel. Darkish fruity bit yeasty caramel flavour with some alcohol, bit spice, sort of wine like towards the finish. Strange abbey dubbel.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Deep brown, red glow, large tanned head.
Aroma of red fruits, wine, caramel, some yeast and faint citrus, seems rich.
Flavour is way thinner than expected, some fruity sweetness, some dry bitterness, but overall simply lacking flavour.

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers. Brownish red clear, thick beige head. It’s a decent dubbel with some lovely brown malts and some very good hops actually. Little bit of fruit too. Very good malts though.
