My first beer in Bamberg. I am against the grain on this one, I thought this was a good weizen. Very dark for the style, like egg yolk in the glass. Banana, cloves, and wheat, and it is sweet. Great palate and a good weizen.

Poured a murky amber with a large white head. Aroma of sweet malt and spiced banana. Medium body, flavour as the aroma, not very well balanced.

Amber colour. Sweet, heavy nose of dried banana and cereal. Soft, nearly no CO2. Full body. Light oily on the palate. tastes a bit of cherry/cake and wheat. Lovely balanced but finishes too quick for such a taste.

Tap @ brewery. Hazy orange appearance with a white head and good lacing. Quite spicy clove, cinnamon, dark orange fruity aroma. Tangy, clove spicy, nutmeg, blood orange citrusy flavor. Quite strange and not all that good.

Tap from the source. Hazy dark orange (in Maisel’s range) with a lacing dull white head. Plastic and grainy wheat in the both in the nose and mouth but it’s not off-putting. Light-medium sweetness with very low, low bitterness. Medium, smooth body. Passable.

Beer No. 103 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy dark orange coloured, medium sized white head, fruity nose. Acidic fruity (a bit stale), light spicy and quite watery with hint of glue in the finish.
