Draft at the brewpub. Not very dark for a "dunkel" - more of an amber, I’d say. Quite "bubbly" as a travel companion noted, airy and quite filling. Both beers we tried here had an odd bubblegum essence that was less than appealing. (#4397, 12/3/2011)

Beer No. 102 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
Draught at the brewpub. Murky amber coloured, small off-white head, pretty neutral nose, just tiny hint of caramel. Toasted malty, caramel and light fruity with mild hoppiness in the finish. Simple dunkel.

Cloudy red-amber color. Very light caramel aroma. Light caramel flavor, sweetish, but with a light ash trace in the end. Low bitterness. Boring.

Koelschtrinker (7034) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUN 3, 2011

crossovert (2774) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 2, 2011
UPDATED: MAY 16, 2011 vom Fass in a Bierprobe. Very much like a micro-brewed American Dunkel, it has a slight hint of diacetyl but ultimately is pretty tasty.
