3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Although it was hazy on tap at the brewpub in Bamberg, the bottled version of the same beer pours clear golden with a decent white head and even some lacing. The malts on the nose are creamy and milky, while the hops remind me of grass, flowers, and lemon zest. Pretty nice. On the palate, the creaminess comes through quite a bit up front, followed by grassy and citric hops on the mid-palate which come with a bitter backbone for balance. The bitterness stays well into the dry finish. The carbonation is a little more on the fizzy side for a lager, but it is far from being over-carbonated. Decent.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pale straw coloured, hazy, fluffy white head, a little spice and lemon on the nose, slightly peppery body, but then a thin dryish finish. Not much to it - competent but forgettable.
