3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
[on tap at brewpub]
Fresh hops and apricot aroma with some plums, strawberries, sweet malt, and a tiny hint of banana. Almost clear amber with a while flanel blanket on top that leaves nice lacing. Excellent malt flavour followed by some floral hops and medium bitterness. Quite biscuity. Medium body, good carbonation, a tad mouth coating.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught, Ambräusianum, Bamberg.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (flowers), with light notes of gum and mint.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
Neat aroma, but too sweet (a trademark of this brewery).

1.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
on tap at the brewery. exactly the same as every other new generation german brewpub helles - pretty pale with a faint white head, faint vanilla aroma, vague bitterness and some plain flour. i can’t believe anyone in bamberg actually goes to this place. during the 2006 world cup they seemed keen to stand out from the crowd by advertising themselves as wm-frei but all that achieved was to make the place as empty as it deserves to be for brewing stuff like this

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sample draught at the brewpub. A lightlly cloudy pale yelllow beer with a white foam. the aroma is malty and overall inviting, but the flavour is weaker than expected, malty with some floral hops. Average

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pale yellow color, big creamy white head, nice lacing. Fruity aroma with notes of honey and grapes. Malty, medium-bodied, touch of fruityness. Finish and aftertaste are hoppy bitterish. Clean brewpub-product (in a good way) and solid example of "Helles"-style.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap @ the brewery. Aroma of hops and citrus. Hazy, yellow coloured with a thin, white head. Taste is slightly sweet with some more bitterness in the finish. A bit sour as well due to the citrus taste in it. Herbal hops in it. Bit sharp.

1.4 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Draught. High withe creamy and lasting head. Hazy light yellow body. I guess I should write wak barley malt aroma but actually I could not smell anything. Weak and fruity barley malt flavor with low hops bitterness, short aftertaste but a good deal of carbonation. What a disappointment.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Draft. A hazy yellow beer with a lazing off-white head. The aroma is sweet citrusy with a light touch of malt. The flavor is sweet with a slightly acidic note of citrus combining with notes of grain, but also yeast - hasn’t it been lagered for long enough? The finish is dry and bitter. It bites slightly in the mouth.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 30, 2015 Bottle: Very light golden color, white head. Aroma of grain, malt, grassy hops. Flavor is also malty/grainy with a good hop biterness, mainly grassy and light herbal notes. Good but more a pils in my opinion.
