Rastacouere (5409), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 11, 2003 Updated: Oct 25, 2003 Bought at the pretty expensive price of 6$ before taxes for a 330 ml. bottle at the Dépanneur Grand-Duc in Longueuil, Québec. Somewhat dark amber beer that is definitely not limpid. Fantastic nose of spices (pepper) and tree fruits (apples, peaches, citrus). Not like anything else I tasted, complex with apparently a little of dozens of flavors among which seem to stand out peaches, apples, citrus, orange and a truckload of spices, one of the most pepperish beers I've had. Alcohol appears toward the end of this bottled dream trip to Belgium. A remarkable surprise. I am sad, they didnt have any more bottles last time I went to that shop.
yespr (6943), Copenhagen O, Denmark Aug 13, 2008 33 cL bottle. Pours hazy brown with a fizzy tan head. Dense dried fruity and mild spiced aroma. Dense caramel malty and slight dark breadish. Pours a hazy, orange-brown with lots of floaties of all sizes, from the tinyest small to big chunks. Beige head leaving nice lacings. Malty-sweet flavor with fruityness and some pale malt. Fruity, caramel flavor with some hoppy bitterness and a little spiced touch. Quite dry. Fruity and slightly caramel-sweet finish. Decent beer, but far from impressing. (080301) JensenTaster (1485), Denmark Mar 4, 2008 (on bottle, thanks thewolf) Sunflower and canesugar in the aromas. Waterish and thin body; but the finish gets all vanilla and sweet tobacco + peat andnutmeg; nice catch.
