Pretty complex IPA...biscuity, fruity (peaches, mandarin oranges, apricots, even a hint of pears, graham cracker, lots of pine resin, very long finish.
I loved Skip’s beers at Boundary Bay, I loved Skip’s beers at Water Street, and I love Skip’s beers at American Brewing!
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 BARLEYWINEO (106) - Tacoma, USA - APR 28, 2012
A: Poured a deep sluggish orange color with good carbonation and a nice white cap
S: Bread and flowers pretty much sums it up
T: Flower bouquet with a big breadiness and some grains on the end, a medium bite from the hops on the medium to back end
M: A bit heavy and chewy, definitely not refreshing and easy to drink.
O: Average IPA
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Aubrey (3191) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - APR 18, 2012
Tasty IPA with a solid malt backbone that’s loaded with caramel flavors. Lesser notes of toast and crackers. Hops are earthy, floral and herbal. Balanced bitterness. Fruity, too, with gummy elements of apricots, peaches and pears. Very drinkable and sessionable. I happily drink this beer wherever I see it.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 carboloader (577) - Houston, Texas, USA - MAR 16, 2012
On tap at the brewery. Pours bright orange, a little cloudy, with creamy frothy head. Stunningly beautiful. Pine, melon, and citrus are very apparent. Full of resin and a mouth-wallop long bitter finish. Creamy, oily mouthfeel. An excellent example of this style -- tasted against Pliny the Elder at another Seattle location and it darn near held its own (even as just a single rather than double IPA). This brewer has mad skills.

From tap at Naked City Brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and citruy hoppy. Crisp bitter and dry. Ends dry and hoppy into the finish.

Bomber poured a clear tarnished copper with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, pine, skunk bud, grapefruit and light orange zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, pine and grapefruit with a smoth dry lingering bitter finish.

Orange golden / amber colour, white head. Aroma of fruity hops. Malts, citrus, grapefruit, slight caramel, loads of American hops. Pine resin and somewhat sweaty odours. Flavour is fruity, bitter touches. Long dry resinous bitter finish. Nice.

Full bitter hoppy touched palate. Finish is actually good balanced with hoppy bitter touches and a long dry bitter full finish. Very very nice.
