COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the end of a fabled week during the winter of 1980, in a fever-pitched Olympic stadium, one hockey game changed the course of American sports history. Barroom legend has it that the night before the underdog American team took to the ice with no chance of winning, world champion coach Herb Brooks took a sip of a bold and simple ale that inspired the bold and simple words that inspired a team to become legends. Now we ask you, what was the true miracle on February 2, 1980? We canít be sure what the exact formula was for Brooksí inspiration. But this IPAís bold and aromatic blend of floral and citrus hard checks your nose and follows it up with a medium intense hop bitterness that doesnít linger. We shot. We scored.

This has a huge body for 7.5% percent (or there abouts). Almost too much - talking DIPA territory here. Luckily itís pretty hoppy to go along with this malt rush. Other than the oppressive body itís not too much different from your average, albeit drinkable, PNW IPA. Good combo with the ballsy Amarillo and woody, slightly more refined Simcoe.

High carbonation, and soft pillow of white foam on top. Recedes a bit then floats on top of a gold orange body. Slightly spicy almost Belgian aroma. Mouthfeel is dry, sharp carbonation, medium body. Taste is lightly bitter, spicy jalapeño Gouda cheese, toffee, and passion fruit. Seems quite a bit different than most NW IPAs. Drinkable even at 7.2%, but there are better IPAs in Washington and BC. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at The Met in New West. A cloudy orange-amber color, with a whitish head. Fruity, citrus hops on the nose. Very bitter and citrus on the tongue. A bit of malt in the background is all. A very nice IPA.

Great hazy amber and copper coloured body with a bit of a rust glow and an almost perfect, two centimetre tall tan head - this looks like a good IPA. Aroma of fresh cascade hops with a bit of pine, resin and pineapple in the mix, a good malt base and a bit of a floral nose as well. Medium-bodied; Assertive piney and floral hop notes that fade fairly quickly and show a good malt backbone, quite a bit of sweetness and a definite floral note. Aftertaste shows the sweetness through honey, the hops through pine and the malt through caramel - nice, but showing much less hops than Iíd expect from a PNW IPA that is consumed super fresh. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Bottleworks in Seattle, Washington on 11-January-2013 for US$3.99, sampled at home in Washington on 17-January-2013.

This beer pours a cloudy apricot brown color with a fluffy white head. The nose is citrus, cilantro and grapefruit skin. The pallet is bitter hops followed by grassy/cilantro, floral and a fruit hop flavor and finishes with an astringent grapefruit flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Good but not spectacular IPA. Hoppy and bitter in the West Coast still. Flavor has depth, but it runs a tad flat, and dissipates quickly. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This should be classified as an IIPA. Big big malt and big big hops combine to make an excellent northwest style ipa. Malty and rich in the aroma followed up with a roundhouse kick of PNW hops, piney, grapefruit, fuzzy and citrusy. This beer teeters on being slightly too bitter...but then the malt balance tips the tables back toward balanced. The cracker-like malt is not lost in the dry finish.

I grabbed this beer as a "try new" beer... I found it to be one of the best, if.not the best IPAís Iíve tried thus far. A light flavor with a mild hoppy taste, which leaves you with a mild aftertaste... which youíll enjoy.

On tap @ Seahawks stadium. Light orange amber colour, medium off-white head. Aroma is a little stinky wet hair and citrus oil (I think the lines need cleaning). Flavour is thinnish malt (more reed/straw than caramel) and bitter citrus with some light pine. Better than any draft lager here, but not great by PNW IPA standards.
