COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Breakaway IPA is made with Vienna and Munich malts to give this beer its malty flavor blended with a generous amount of Amarillo and Simcoe hops, which give this beer its signature citrusy character. The starting gravity is about 15 degrees plato (S.G. 1068), which means that the alcohol by volume is about 7%.

22oz Bottle. Deep hazed orange body, chalky head. Honey Mead are on nose with citrus hops. Smooth, cool body that does not punch much. Caramel tinged, sweeter IPA. Very tasty but not exactly what Iím looking for in this style.

Bold orange hued amber body with a tall frothy tan head. Fresh grainy bread malt body. Dry malt backbone that is simple yet expressive with a selection of quality ingredients. A touch of toffee and light caramel. Bold sharp hop presence. High impact citrus character with a sharp kick of spice and peppery pine. Crisp finish that borders on the thin side but does so thoughtfully as the light malt punch lets the hops, which - simcoe and amarillo- are well chosen and compliment the base extremely well. I count myself lucky to have randomly chosen this beer for my 1000th rating.

Nice orange pour with a thin lacing head. Floral and bread notes. Some citrus rind alone with a little earth. Feels good in the mouth with a roundness from the malt. Skipís love of simcoe is apparent with the piney finish. A fine example of a west coast ipa

Pretty complex IPA...biscuity, fruity (peaches, mandarin oranges, apricots, even a hint of pears, graham cracker, lots of pine resin, very long finish. I loved Skipís beers at Boundary Bay, I loved Skipís beers at Water Street, and I love Skipís beers at American Brewing!

A: Poured a deep sluggish orange color with good carbonation and a nice white cap S: Bread and flowers pretty much sums it up T: Flower bouquet with a big breadiness and some grains on the end, a medium bite from the hops on the medium to back end M: A bit heavy and chewy, definitely not refreshing and easy to drink. O: Average IPA

Tasty IPA with a solid malt backbone thatís loaded with caramel flavors. Lesser notes of toast and crackers. Hops are earthy, floral and herbal. Balanced bitterness. Fruity, too, with gummy elements of apricots, peaches and pears. Very drinkable and sessionable. I happily drink this beer wherever I see it.

On tap at the brewery. Pours bright orange, a little cloudy, with creamy frothy head. Stunningly beautiful. Pine, melon, and citrus are very apparent. Full of resin and a mouth-wallop long bitter finish. Creamy, oily mouthfeel. An excellent example of this style -- tasted against Pliny the Elder at another Seattle location and it darn near held its own (even as just a single rather than double IPA). This brewer has mad skills.

From tap at Naked City Brewpub. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is grapefruity and citruy hoppy. Crisp bitter and dry. Ends dry and hoppy into the finish.

Another bomber split with Gerry B...good solid IPA. hoppy nose and a little more body than some astringent IPAs...sweet and tasty

Bomber poured a clear tarnished copper with a lasting creamy amber head. Aromas of carmel, earthiness, pine, skunk bud, grapefruit and light orange zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, earthiness, pine and grapefruit with a smoth dry lingering bitter finish.
