Pours deep copper to almost red with white head. Nice lacing on a light pour out of the growler. Nice aromas of citrus and light pine. Flavor is a nice maltiness that ommediately releases to a big hop profile. Well balanced with the malt but nicely bitter. I heared approximately 80 plus ibus. Nice beer from a new brewery!

On tap @ Collins Pub, Seattle. Clear, dark gold pour. Minimal head and lace. Toasty malt balanced with resinous and grapefruit hops. Some orange in the middling body, but not overly complex. A standard PNW IPA.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2010 Draft at Brouwer’s. Orange amber pour with an off-white head. Aroma is dank grass and earth. The malt body is a little bready and toasty and serves as a good base for the hoppy flavor and aromatics. This is one of the most herby tasting IPAs I’ve had, lots of hemp, grass, and earth in this, a bit of a woody taste as it finishes. Has a long, lightly bitter finish. I personally enjoyed this a lot due to how distinctly leafy it is compared to a lot of West coast IPAs I’ve partaken of.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a transparent orange with a small head. Hop bitterness up front, fading to more balance with caramel malts. Hops are a bit stale, but the mouthfeel is nice. Not enough hops in the flavor for my taste, though.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft at Brouwer’s and Naked City on several occasions, though not for a little while. Pours a hazy, deeply burnished and fairly dark amber with a dense and somewhat creamy tan head. Earthy, woody, slightly leafy hop nose. Very appealing, almost herbalicious aromatics. Creamy medium body with a generous presence of lively and fairly tight carb. That herbal, earthy, leafy hop nose comes through over a fairly dark biscuit floor. Nice stuff. Long earthy, resinous finish. Very much on the darker, denser, even a bit harsher side of the spectrum.

Tap at Fiddlers.
Glad to try Skip Madsen’s new offering. Deep copper pour, lightly hopped IPA by PacNW standards, slightly sweet, vegetal notes, perfectly drinkable but given the abundance of great local IPAs this one was overall disappointing in what the hops have to offer.

On tap at Collins Pub. Pours a yellow gold with minimal head. Fairly malty for an IPA, with lots of caramel taste finishing with bitter grapefruit. Aromas are faint caramel and citrus hop.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: APR 20, 2011 Tangerine, light frothy head. Refreshing citrus and floral hop mix with honeyed hop tendrils, requires light teasing from the glass. Well-stated hoppiness with easy complexity, nice balance between citrus and floral and solid bitterness with a somewhat sour finish. More bitter twangy as the experience lengthens.Re-rate: 4-16-11: The initial review was spot on, though I seem to have enjoyed it a bit more the second time around. Wonderful bouquet of fruit, floral notes, and maltiness with hints of bitter is the best feature.

On tap at several places around town. Had at Collins Pub, cloudy pale orange body with moderate head. Big hop aroma and great balance.
