At the end of a fabled week during the winter of 1980, in a fever-pitched Olympic stadium, one hockey game changed the course of American sports history. Barroom legend has it that the night before the underdog American team took to the ice with no chance of winning, world champion coach Herb Brooks took a sip of a bold and simple ale that inspired the bold and simple words that inspired a team to become legends. Now we ask you, what was the true miracle on February 2, 1980? We can’t be sure what the exact formula was for Brooks’ inspiration. But this IPA’s bold and aromatic blend of floral and citrus hard checks your nose and follows it up with a medium intense hop bitterness that doesn’t linger. We shot. We scored.

Pours a hazy copper color with a thick creamy head that leaves amazing lacing. Smells of citrus, caramel, pine, and resin. Tastes of all the same things with the citrus being the most prevalent flavor. This is also very hop forward. Mouthfeel is chewy and creamy with good carbonation and a dry finish. Overall this was a really good tasting northwest style ipa highly recommended for any hop head.

Meh. Nothing interesting here. It's a Carmel malt bomb with harsh hop bitterness up front (typical Puget Sound/Washington old way of brewing IPA) and not much late aroma and flavor. There is a subtle touch of hop resin and spice however. Quite dark for an IPA. Comes across as a heavy American Amber (drinks like a 10% rather than 7.2) with some hops; a poor attempt to a GF hop head red? I wish I could get into it but there's no way it's a second Pinter let alone finishing the first pint.

Tap at Grub. Aroma is a little spicy, lots of malt, touch of resin. Taste is nice, fruity, quite bitter, biscuity malt but all about the hops. Sticky, resinous. Nice.

A mild hop aroma comes from this hazish Orange brew with floaties. The taste is sweet but bitter with low carb and a medium body. A smooth finish and an almost English style aftertaste.

Berries and caramel. Bitter caramel, apricot, apple, biscuit, pine, weed, hoppy finish. Nice ipa with a rich hop/caramel character.

This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt golden orange with a big white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving a whole lot of messy lacing all over the place. The smell had a huge caramel maltiness with a little bit of grassy hops in the background. The taste was mainly malty sweet and had a fairly decent caramel aftertaste with a lingering sweet malty finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a huge sessionability about it. Probably could pound this all day. Overall, I say this was honestly an okay IPA, seemed like it came across more of an EIPA as the hops were extremely subdued. Still do - able.

Clear dark golden with a medium sized off-white head, lots of lacing. Aroma of caramel and dusty. Taste is malty, caramel and pine resin
Average, tastes old but looking at the other ratings it sounds like the norm for this beer.

Jaune - cuivre avec un petit col tan. L’arôme d’houblon assez simple. Un peu du malt dans le goût mais plutôt d’houblon assez amer. Un bon IPA mais assez simple.

Tap. An almost copper red, clear. Great head on pour and some nice lacing. Mildly hoppy nose. Some dry hopping comes through on end of sip, but otherwise a subtle IPA with well-disguised ABV.
