3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
FROM NOTES: August 7, ’12
Poured from a 22 ounce bomber into a shaker glass.
A: Hop forward, with much citrus, some pine and floral notes, with just a hint of malt sweetness in the background.
A: Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a one-finger, tan head of bubbly foam. Nice retention dissipates into some sudsy lace on the glass.
T: A stronger hop presence than in the nose, but still not a hop bomb with lots of malty sweetness in the flavor.
P: Pretty heavily bodied, hoppy, crisp and bitter.
O: An undistinguished IPA in the plethora of the style

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. An almost copper red, clear. Great head on pour and some nice lacing. Mildly hoppy nose. Some dry hopping comes through on end of sip, but otherwise a subtle IPA with well-disguised ABV.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
22 ounce bottle thanks to GCurlow. Somewhat malty with muted hop presence. Not sure if this is freshness issue or how it really is. Comes up short as a West Coast IPA.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Clear redder medium copper, fading tan foam. Promising tropical fruity aroma is short lived. Bitter hoppy taste, earthy, dirty and floral, slightly sweet toasted caramel malt. Average carbonation, medium bodied, aggressively hopped. Gets grapefruity later on, finishes long and bitter. Could be designated an Impy. Paired well with Game 5. (Congrats L.A.!) 2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Clear dark golden under a tight white head. Fruity bitter nose of apricot and banana and slightly herbal hop resins. Flavor has a slightly acidic and herbal hop start that melds into an earthy and spicy malt finish. A bit woodsy and grassy too. Meh.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Beer Keyaki Spring 2014. A clear copper pour, medium bodied, clean piney bitterness. OK, a solid IPA though it didn’t stand out.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy orange color with a cm of white head. Aroma is biscuity malt, with sweet grapefruit notes. Taste is mild and malt-forward, but very pleasant and drinkable. $2/12oz

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Amber, a little chewy, earthy hop, quite a bit chewy, lots of crystal. So un-Seattle. The hops end up being quite muted and you end up with an oversized amber, which to me doesn’t really work.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Serving: from tap at Pagliacci Pizza.
Aroma: light pine hop.
Appearance: average-sized, creamy, off-white, initial head with very good lacing and fully diminishing longevity. Cloudy, light-amber body.
Taste: lightly bitter initial flavor and lightly bitter, grapefruit finish with average duration.
Palate: medium body, oily texture and soft carbonation.
Overall: very good.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
Darker amber pour with a big white head. Aroma is grapefruit, burnt plastic, and malt. Taste is pretty much the same. Not sure what happened to this bottle... Drain pour.
