StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 6, 2005 Under the guise of "Thoroughbred Red". Clear brass in color with a white rung for the head. Aroma of maraschino cherries, honey soaked hops, cedar and pine. Flavor leads in with hazelnuts and pineapples undermining grapefruit. Some strange red licorice sweetening. Cornfield (4254), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Mar 24, 2005 Updated: Jul 8, 2005This is the palest Irish ale that I’ve ever seen - a very, very light amber. The head was nice and it did some good lacing. But the faint aroma and light malt flavor with NO hopping left much to be desired. On top of which, the menu description includes the following. "This will remind you of a Killian’s Irish Red... only fresher!" WHY? Why copy such a bland brew? America’s BrewPub can do much better. I’ve enjoyed their aged barley wine and WARMing Scotch ale. What’s with this crap?
