frankenkitty (1789), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Jun 6, 2005 Pleasantly served at room temperature, this stout was thoroughly a deep brown with a short, tan head that retained and laced with the help of nitro infusion. Terrific malted aroma of strong coffee and dark fruits with a burnt and nutty essence. Flavor started as bitter dark chocolate ending as bitter coffee, with 32 IBUs lingering in the finish. Aftertastes of black tea and dried apricot. Overall nice & heavy, serving as a relaxing end to the evening.

evilempire (112), sheffield, South Yorkshire, England Mar 4, 2008 on tap at brewpub. definitely the best offering of the night. black with a slight edge of ruby, thick creamy head. looks like Guinness, but fortunately tastes nowt like it. Full roat flavour, with hints of coffee and chocolate. quality stout AOF (281), Naperville, Illinois, USA Apr 13, 2007 On tap at Americas Brewpub, Seasonal feature: Rich black in color with a thick creamy off white head. Nose is bittersweet chocolate, sweet malt, and homemade oatmeal. Intial impression of the flavor was high. Extremely smooth and creamy, this was well on its way to a very high rating. What ruined it was the finish. Somewhat bitter with what I can only describe as vinegar came through at the end of the drink. Still, a very good stout. Would like to see it tightened up a bit. kwoeltje (1207), Manchester, Missouri, USA Mar 26, 2007 Deep black with tan head. Malt aroma. Sweet malt flavor with hints of chocolate and coffee. Not really like Guinness. Ughsmash (3004), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Mar 7, 2007 On tap at StoutFest as "America’s Oatmeal Stout". Poured a darker brown with a loose ring of caramel head. Aroma picked up sweeter, milky chocolates, grainy barley, and an odd sweetness that I could not place. Dry-roasted chocolate in the flavor with odd fruity notes.. hint of vanilla as an accent.. solid flavors, only decently blended. Grainy and medium-bodied on the palate with an OK flow. kseecs16 (537), Westmont, Illinois, USA Mar 1, 2007 Dark black with a creamy head. A rich aroma of grains and burnt toast. Flavor is full with a dominant roast character and a char bitterness in the finish. Medium bodied and very smooth.
