Jobus (7), Chuluota, Florida, USA does not count Oct 21, 2007 Golden Orange, slightly cloudy appearance. The taste is not too bad as I was franky expecting the worst. I like the slight pumpkin taste, but the spices are a turn off. The spices remind me of a holiday tea or coffee. Nutmeg and/or cinnamin I guess. stefanje (483), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Oct 12, 2007 12 oz bottle from Henry’s Market. Pours slightly cloudy orange color. No head; it disappeared in record time. Aroma was moderate in strength with pumpkins and cardboard. The flavor was of watered down pumpkins, some nutmeg, and cloves. Mouthfeel was thin and watery, carbonation was lively and prickly. Finish was dry and dominated by the clove spices. Overall: I was disapointed by this pumpkin ale, I expect a much more big bold offering of flavors. This beer wasn’t bad it was just weak. Not recommended. andyhite (273), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA Oct 2, 2007 12oz bottle. pours orange, but roasted and rusty, w/a hint of light amber. head was minimal, but present. aromas are of...thin pumpkin, nutmeg cream, and heavy egg nog. the egg nog practically drowns out the other aromas. same way on taste. the egg nog overwhelms, while the carbonation, autumnal flavored yeasts, and caramel malts take a deep backseat. interesting conglomeration, but i’d rather it be released in nov under a name of ’holiday spice ale’...just a marketing suggestion. shigadeyo (1342), Southwest Ohio Area, Ohio, USA Nov 14, 2006 Sampled from tap on 11/10/2006 at Walter Payton’s Roundhouse in Aurora, IL...
Clear light orange/copper color with moderate carbonation and no head. Aroma is has some subtle pumpkin and sqash undertones with hints of pumpkin pie spices as well. The flavor is squash, a very small hint of pumpkin and mostly ginger spice. Medium body. This was a fairly average and typical Pumpkin Ale. JMerritt (1100), Macomb, Illinois, USA Dec 30, 2005 Dark golden, slightly hazy, with a thin white head. Very pumpkiny, squashy aroma, slightly buttery, with some cinnamon and flowers, but the pumpkin flavor is at the forefront unlike so many other pumpkin beers that hit you in the face with cinnamon and nutmeg. Quite good.
