COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed with black malt, chocolate malt and Starbucks coffee. Has all the alcohol kick a stout would have and the flavor of coffee with caffeine.

GABF 2005: Opaque with a small creamy tight head and good lace. The aroma has a big coffee nose with mocha and burnt malt, phenolic and slight fruit esters. The taste follows suit with a nice prune addition late in the game. The feel is bitting yet overall smooth and drinkable. Enjoy this stout only if you like coffee (I do)

Draught at the pub. Appears opaque brown with no head. Some vinuous lacing on the glass. Coffee and chocolate dominate the nose. Roast coffee profile with a touch of chocolate sweetness. Body is a bit lacking, has a lingering char bitterness.

A special treat as Mr. Rybinski treated my wife and I to a sample of this on our most recent visit. Pours dark and rich with a pale-tan skin of a head. Huge coffee aroma covers all with its savory roasts. Mid-bodied with a mild chocolate flavor trying to push through all that coffee. After an initial taste, MIke added a splash of Dirty Summer Blonde, which barely lightened its appearance yet added a beautiful chocolate sweetness to smooth out the coffee bitters. Lovely... I would rate this even higher in palate and flavor if it was the mixture that was up for review!

Very dark brown with a bubbling light brown head, coffee dominates the nose backed by roasted sweet malt and a bit of chocolate. It’s a bit thin in the mouth, but the coffee flavor remains strong, nicely blended with sweet malt and a roasted, nutty taste.

GABF ’05. Black body, bubbly tan head. Vanilla, chocolate, coffee, anda hint of bourbon barrel in the nose. Very inviting. The flavor is a bit watery starting w/ chocolate malt and continuing w/ coffe, bitter hops and light vanilla liquer.

Freshly brewed coffee aroma. Deep black with a thin limp head. Esspresso, baker’s chocolate, burnt malt, toast, and fresh roasting coffee. It’s actually put together fairly well.

Dark tan head sits on an opaque, midnight brown body. Mocha cocoa aroma, some semi-sweet chocolate morsels and a hint of lactose. Flavors come out to parry. Dark, dry chocolate surrounded by a chocolate mocha latte. Milk chocolate accents and a syrupy palate projection. Body is medium and a touch syrupy, but with a substantive trait that doesn’t detract. Chocolate and iced coffee finish. Quite possibly this brewery’s best.

this was a disappointment. not as much coffee in the nose as i hoped and not near enough in the taste either. i could taste the coffee and some chocolate a bit, but the taste that dominated this brew for me was diacytel. i have not been able to pick up this off flavor in a whole lot of beers, but in this one it really stood out and distracted from this pint quite a bit. otherwise, it was full bodied, silky and would have been a fne stout, but each sip was just way to buttery tasting.
