COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Red Zone is a full bodied lager with an aroma of toasted sweet malts. This semi-sweet finishing lager is artfully balanced with seven different types of grain and choice hops.

At the brewpub. Clear and reddish brown. Sweet aroma. Taste was sSweeter than expected, although not a bad thing. Very drinkable.

I was really surprised at this. The website describes this as a "Munchner", but it also says that one of its other beers is a Helles, and I didn't think they would have two of the same style, so I entered this as just a plain "lager". Oh well. Whatever it is, it is a surprisingly good beer--fruity and sweet in aroma and flavor, well balanced, and easy to drink (clearly not a bitter pils). Typically ambivalent brewpub carbonation and palate, and just a normal appearance. But a very nice reason to dive into this brewpub just off the highway if you're on a Minneapolis-to-Dallas driving trip like I happen to be with all too much frequency.

On tap GABF 02: Brewer listed as Amerisport. Rich malt aroma, orange colored, flat watery texture. Something about this tasted really off.

Nice, dark fruity aroma. Slightly dark clear amber color, with very fine carbonation and somewhat slight head. Caramelly malty flavor and a light body, refreshing and tasty. Hops do serve to balance nicely, but this beer is all about the malt. Pleasant finsh and mouthfeel. Good Marzen style beer.
