Malty smell. Slightly hazy, red-brown apearance with a full head. Nutty taste with a smooth, sweet finish. 4.0/5

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Indra (2482) - Overland Park, Kansas, USA - OCT 14, 2001
Nice, dark fruity aroma. Slightly dark clear amber color, with very fine carbonation and somewhat slight head. Caramelly malty flavor and a light body, refreshing and tasty. Hops do serve to balance nicely, but this beer is all about the malt. Pleasant finsh and mouthfeel. Good Marzen style beer.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Nuffield (3362) - Roseville, Minnesota, USA - JAN 2, 2004
I was really surprised at this. The website describes this as a "Munchner", but it also says that one of its other beers is a Helles, and I didn't think they would have two of the same style, so I entered this as just a plain "lager". Oh well. Whatever it is, it is a surprisingly good beer--fruity and sweet in aroma and flavor, well balanced, and easy to drink (clearly not a bitter pils). Typically ambivalent brewpub carbonation and palate, and just a normal appearance. But a very nice reason to dive into this brewpub just off the highway if you're on a Minneapolis-to-Dallas driving trip like I happen to be with all too much frequency.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 heemer77 (5016) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAR 20, 2006
Easily my favorite beer at the brewpub. The body was light amber colored with a light khaki head. The aroma was perfume like with apples and carrots. The taste was spicy with bell pepperrs and some light bread crust. This would be good for a few.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 beastiefan2k (2109) - Lawrence (formely NYC), Kansas, USA - APR 20, 2009
Sampler @ brewpub. Completely clear reddish copper color. Aroma is light diacetyl with some caramel sweetness. The taste losses some of the diacetyl and has a good caramel lagered flavor with some light tangerine hops at the back end.

On tap at Amerisports Brewpub. Pours a reddish color with white head. Caramel, slightly nutty, malty flavors. Alright.
3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 SledgeJr (3577) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - MAR 3, 2005
On tap at the brewpub. Amber in color with a big rich head. Speckled lacing. Some toasted flavor. Hoppy with a good malt content behind the hops. A sturdy little beer that I thought lies somewhere between a dunkel and a helles. This does not seem like a Vienna-style. Not toasted enough.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 RobertDale (2001) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - DEC 12, 2010
Sampler at the brewpub. Clear amber with a nice biege head. Aroma of fruit and caramel malt. Sweet tasting with some hops for balance. Easy to drink. Pretty good.

On tap at the brewpub, 2/20/06: Beautiful looker. Rosy and active with a decent enough head. Sweet aroma. Beer was a tad too sweet for me ... but it’s a well-balanced example of an amber lager.
