Amherst Patch Porter

On tap at the brewpub. A good example of the inconsistency of the lineup, this porter is rather bland and the carbonation and taste is off. Certainly not a batch that should have been served. Dark, a bit of aroma, some hops that gave it some citrus. It could have used: less carboantion, more malting, particular chocolate malt.

Deep dark black. Tan head. Roasted malt, raison, port, coffe'ish nose. Dark espresso, burnt flavor, bitter chocolate, raison, dark fruit, slightly viscous, with a great body and mouthfeel. A very nice brew from the ABC...
