alandudeman (25), Massachusetts, USA Nov 8, 2007 I expected more. First off this is not an Imperial Stout. It’s rather weak compared to others. The flavor was weak and nothing special, the thick texture is what saved it for me. The aroma wasn’t too great either. It reminded me of dirty pennies...gross. phiconners (104), USA Jul 17, 2007 On tap. Chocolate notes, pretty good beer. Good flavor, but felt a little thin for an imperial. Sammy (2969), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 15, 2007 Coffee aroma. Really bold rich coffee, taste on tap at the brewpub. Creamy mouthfeel, lace on brandy brown though minimal head. Bitter. One of their best in this place, unfortunately inconsistent. LyndaNova (464), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA Jun 15, 2007 Cold on tap: Pours a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a medium sized, creamy, tan colored head. Roasted malts with grassy hops and notes of wood and coffee. Medium bodied and smooth with good carbonation. Ending is of dark roasted malts. eaglefan538 (2021), Wilmington, Delaware, USA Oct 6, 2006 Poured the usual, although the head and lacing were pretty stellar. The aroma was of coffee and chocolate, nothing that impressive. The flavor followed suit with a touch of a hop or roasted malt bitterness to support this thing. It prevailed as not being a cloyingly sweet impy stout, but the problem was it didn’t seem like anything more than a basic stout. Impy stout? Hard to believe.
