Bene bene.

Bottle at GBBF 2011, Day 1, shared with Ken and Paul. Pours a clearish, golden-red with a mild, foamy head. Dusty malt nose, slight tang evident. Mild earth in the flavor, some toast, bit of toffee, pleasant sweetness. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Toast and faint smoke to finish, light caramel. Nice. Chestnuts don’t get no respect.

Con castañas. Color ámbar, con una espuma de color beige muy bonito y compacto. Olor al castaño, malta, y ligeramente a miel. Sabor a castañas. No está mal, pero a lo mejor resulta un poco demasiado dulce. Tal vez un poco monótona.

Bottle from Domus Birrae. Pours slightly ruddy hazy amber with a creamy beige head. Light aroma of malt, herb and something strange. Med bodey. Flavor is fruity and herby with something strange - which apparently is chestnut. Not very bitter, but quite pleasant.

6th June 2010. RBESG 10 Grand Tasting at the Brasserie 4:20 warehouse. Cloudy amber beer. Good frothy cream head. Crisp. Lightly sour and lightly smoked. Tart orange and generic fruit. Finishes dry. Interesting contrast of smoke and fresh fruit!

Scopey (1658) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 9, 2011
Bottle at GBBF 2011. It pours orange-amber, with a thin foamy beige head. The nose is orange, smoke, bonfire, farmyard and light sourness. The taste is tart orange, cream soda, lemon, mango, apricot and wood with a dry finish. Moderate body and soft carbonation. An interesting beer.
