Dobre i mile na zimowe wieczory. Rozgrzewajacy i alkoholowy finisz. W smaku toffi, sliwka w rumie kasztanowe posmaki i nieco nawet ziemniaczane. Przyjemne tresciwe i troche slodkawe piwo.

(Rating #3742)

Lubiere (9765) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 24, 2011
A reddish brown barley wine with a thin moka head. In aroma, vinous malt, fruity, dark prunes, musty. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar with faint hops, treacle, barley candy, a bit thin, but nice. Bottle at Mondial 2011, June 9, 2011.

birraiolo (196) - ITALY - APR 22, 2011

Ungstrup (29107) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - AUG 26, 2010
Bottled. An unclear amber beer with an off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt combined with lighter notes of fruit. The flavor is lightly acidic with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a dry and lightly roasted finish.

fiulijn (14328) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 27, 2009
Batch 95E
Beautiful red-amber color; creamy head. The aroma is malty, but unfortunately it shows a very light, suspicious sourness. Quite good body structure; good caramel flavor; it’s less malty than the sample I had at the recent IBF in Milan, so I suspect that some of the sugars have been processed by an infected yeast. It has a quite strong bitterness, more than an English example, but not aromatic or resiny like an American one; the bitterness level is also influenced by the infection (?). The final is also nutty. Not bad, but imprecise.

Papsoe (25090) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2009
Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Hazy amber golden with a small off-white head. Tart aroma, some fruit and alcohol. Quite full-bodied, notes of plums and some caramel. Strangely unclean. Tart alcoholic finish. 040409

Bov (9255) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - APR 22, 2009
courtesy of fiulijn - pours a fully cloudy reddish-brown colour with a little beige foam; aggressive nose with notes of prune, malt and lemon; very sweet and sticky, thick; good malt body and with a late and solid bitterness; the finish is sticky with lot of fruity notes and a very burning alcohol touch - quite a strange beer.
