Braudog (3461), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Sep 24, 2006 8 oz draft at the brewpub: Golden with a big active head. Cookie dough maltiness predominates, this being a very biscuity beer with a buttery consistency, but it gives out a pretty good hop kick at the finish. krisbierjaeger (837), dolores, Colorado, USA Feb 5, 2005 here’s a very cute little hometown brewpub, with better than average food, and cuter than average female staff-- but with a beer selection that is as bland, unchanging and underwhelming as that of any small town ball park. out of sheer boredom, i ordered the lager. i’m not really a lager fan, and this was clearly a cry for help on my part-- hoping for an electrifying miracle. yawn. miracles are VERY rare. this was yellow and clear, as brassy as a krugerrand-- a polar bear colored head, softer and creamier than you average lager. circumspect aroma, the soft pine of popscyle sticks, yellow squash, grass seeds. a light flavoring above and beyond what you’d find in a generic cracker-- mostly grain, tho oddly sweet; carbonation isn’t excessive-- ala the macro lagers--but the effervesence is still the first responder. the finish dries a bit, so dortmunder comes to mind rather than a saaz-rich pilsner. a nice enough drink, i guess. whatever. with verrrrry modest hop, light to medium body.
