draft. clear copper. orange oil waxy resinous hop nose with heavier sap / pine / wood than fruit, but malt is quiet (or overwhemled). medium body, semi-sweet approach, frothing late. orange oil resinous flavor. highly bitter and lingering with a sharp sap / honey and fresh pine resin lasting finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours a medium, lasting white head, with extensive lacing, over a slightly hazy, dark gold (SRM 6) body.....nose is heavy pine, lighter grapefruit, light toffee/caramel.....taste is pine, grapefruit, light toffee/caramel, honey floral, slight pineapple, licorice, finishing with a medium lingering bitterness....mouth feel medium, slightly sticky, alcohol hidden, carbonation adds a creamy sensation. This is obviously a D/IIPA. The malt and hop back bones are well balanced. The hops are well handled with loads of aroma and flavor nuances without the over whelming bitterness found in some in this style. It will be interesting to follow its evolution. BJCP 9/3/15/5/7
