Grima (2089) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - DEC 12, 2010
500ml bottle. Into the glass pours a dark brown beer with a fine, long-lasting crown. The smell is very sweet and nutty caramelly. The beer starts fabulous caramel-malty, very soft and pleasantly sweet. The aftertaste is slightly bitter, but the caramel dominates clearly! The further course is a little spicy, the sweet aroma is minimal pushed through a bitter-bitter tone to the side, but still felt good. It still adds a slight coffee flavor. Truly one of the best dark beers I rated the last few months!

bottle from Bierzwerg. Deep brown colour, mid-sized off-white head. Malty flavours with hints of caramel and chocolate. Interesting flavours of smoked ham tune in towards the finish.

Bottled. Clear nutbown-amber color with a thick creamy head. Sweet malt nose with smokey scent. Aroma is of roasted malt. Light malt and caramel tones in flavour. Well-balanced, but no bitter finish.

kappldav123 (4815) - GERMANY - OCT 13, 2010
Bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass dark brown, small head. Starts malty and strong, quite dry without being too much, fruity like plums. Finish a bit earthy but also well balanced. Quite drinkable. Good beer!

judasbeer (431) - Budapest, HUNGARY - APR 15, 2010
Appearance: Coppery brown color with a medium-sized, airy, beige head.
Aroma: Slightly sour lager-yeasty dominance with toffee and caramel-like toasted malty impression. Faint hoppy edge.
Flavor: Mildly toasted nutty, bready malts at the foreground. Nice balance of pure, earthy yeasty notes and toasted breadiness at the mid-palate. Slight grassy hoppy bite with toasted malty dry effect at the finish.
Mouthfeel/Palate: Medium body with soft toasted-malty mouthfeel. Soft carbonation.
Overall: Quite impressive dunkel. Nothing extraordinary, pure, simple and enjoyable.

Tiszta vörösesbarna színű dunkel aminek a tetejét egy közepes méretű bézs színű hab fed be.Illata eleinte tartózkodó de ahogy kiszabadul a hab alól egyből érezhető a karamell,pörkölt magvak és egy kis élesztő.Íze édeskés,enyhén pörkölt malátás,rozskenyeres és kissé kólás.Elég vizes teste van és enyhén szénsavas.Utóíze is édes, kicsit állott kakaóporos,a vége enyhén száraz.Nekem túl édes és egy kicsit üres.

0,5 l bottle, bought at Sörspecialista.hu, Budapest.
Poured brown with a fine lacing tan head. Moderated aroma whit toasted grains, sourish yeast, some fruity character, honey. Medium bodied beer with a light toasted grainy flavor, sweet caramel, a mild bit of hop in the finish. Drinkable but not a very exciting one.

Bottle @ Konji African restaurant. Dark orange-brown with no lasting head. Simplistic sweet bready malt aromas and flavors. Is a clean, simple bready beer with a watery palate. Not bad, just simple.
