on tap-pours a thin off white head and cloudy orange/gold color. Aroma is citrus/grapefruit-hops, faint malt. Taste is mmmmmmmm good! Citrus/grapefruit-some bitterness-hops, some resiny, secondary medium malt. Medium body. OK carbonation. Tongue calls a truce for being raked over by two IPA’s. best beer of the trip week #1.

draft. served too cold. heavy cloudiness. burnt orange. incredibly juicy and citrus-focused, with the heavy acidity and bitterness from chinook scraping the tongue. it’s a hop-delivery vehicle, specifically the high alpha acid chinooks, and although it first impresses with it’s freshness and juiciness, the bitterness does get excessive after a half pint. fresh-squeezed grapefruit and orange juice in the nose, a little bit of green/celery/wet-hop character. overall pretty delicious but unbalanced. I can see why it’s so popular, it tastes like pot.

On tap at the brewpub during ABA Beer Tour 07. Pours a murky/hazy pale golden amber brew with a thick off-white head. This brew’s appearance could have fooled me and would have thought this to be a hefeweizen. Aroma of distinct amarillo pine and very little caramel malt. Taste is light to medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a good balance of caramel and hop bitterness in flavor. Finish has a slightly gritty, and light hop bitter aftertaste

Hazy golden orange with a bubbly head. Rather citrusy aroma with grapefruit and orange, a touch of pine perhaps. Citrusy hop profile with some caramel malts as well. Dry hoppy finish.

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Dirty caramel, large frothy off-white head, sticky lacing.   Grainy malt nose, subtle hops.   Almost seems more of a Pale Ale than IPA.   Grainy on the tongue, soft hop presense, minor sweetness.   No real puckering.   Bitter, but not in that hoppy sense.   A little astringent.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Grainy finish, light hops, a good malt base, minor citrus sweetness.   Okay brew, but nothing that really captures me.
