To me better than the Desolation. Hop profiles wavers between citrus notes and piney resins, but no matter what the hop profile is assertive with overpowering.

On tap at Venti’s Downtown. Grapefruit and pine balanced with a malty background. Some bitterness throughout that fades away at the finish.

Opaque rust colour. Decent lacing. Right off pour, cap is dense white. Smell slight floral. No time to let warm up. Sweet hoppy taste. great balance.

Pours a luscious, somewhat hazy honey golden with a fairly thick pale orangy-tan head. Aroma is quite evergreen, promising a superior IPA. Flavor is strongly hoppy yet minimally bitter and slightly sweet, with some sour citrus hints. Texture is quite fizzy, leaving behind a nice hoppy tingle.

Hazy murky light brown pour. Piney, citrus hop aroma, very resiny. Taste is huge grapefruit and pine notes, really nice bitterness with a good malt balance. I really liked this one.
2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Hophazard (193) - San Francisco, California, USA - FEB 25, 2011
A grassy, orange-citrys aroma. A milky, very hazy orange color with no head. Piney, resinous hop with powerful bitterness on the finish. Carbonic bite is quite present. Light body. Ok IPA but may not try again.

Good IPA from a local portland brewery. Decent balance of hops/maltiness. Dry taste on the palate

Draught @ Brouwer’s Café:   Dirty caramel, large frothy off-white head, sticky lacing.   Grainy malt nose, subtle hops.   Almost seems more of a Pale Ale than IPA.   Grainy on the tongue, soft hop presense, minor sweetness.   No real puckering.   Bitter, but not in that hoppy sense.   A little astringent.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Grainy finish, light hops, a good malt base, minor citrus sweetness.   Okay brew, but nothing that really captures me.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 3fourths (6385) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - DEC 27, 2009
draft. served too cold. heavy cloudiness. burnt orange. incredibly juicy and citrus-focused, with the heavy acidity and bitterness from chinook scraping the tongue. it’s a hop-delivery vehicle, specifically the high alpha acid chinooks, and although it first impresses with it’s freshness and juiciness, the bitterness does get excessive after a half pint. fresh-squeezed grapefruit and orange juice in the nose, a little bit of green/celery/wet-hop character. overall pretty delicious but unbalanced. I can see why it’s so popular, it tastes like pot.
