3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 harlequinn (2745) - Tacoma, Washington, USA - JAN 10, 2006
Pours a hazy blondish copper color with a thick fluffy white head. The aroma is hoppy with some slightly vegetal aroma present as well. Flavors are really hop dominant, and has some nice acidity and fruitiness with some ever flavorful balancing malts full of toast and caramel. This is really well balanced and tasty. Refreshing
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 imrichbeeeatch (16) - USA - JAN 8, 2006
On draght at brewery. Pours thick fluffy cloud-like head on top of a hazy copper/orange colored beer (the haze knocks down the score of the appearance). Has an intense fresh hop aroma, definitely NW. Centennial or Cascade like. Slight citrus, very...hmmm...green smelling if you can use that. Smells of chlorophyll, like herbs and grass. Not bad, just interesting. Followed by a nice sweet toasted malt aroma. Aroma is intense and lasts the whole beer, but there is something I am not quite sure I like. First taste is smooth, hops, hops, and more hops. But not over bitter. Just pure American hop flavor (America F**K Yeah!) Very herbal (clover, green grass, a little pine). Nice round malt flavor, sweet not cloying, toasted, caramel, and hops all the way through. Carbonation was nice and light, body was perfect. Filled every void in my mouth, with out being rude. Finishes with citrus hops and me wanting more. Nice beer from a good brewery.
I’ll take another Desolation please!

I’ve only had this beer one time, but it was very tasty. Nice and hoppy with a good floral aroma. I drank a bit too much of it so I can’t give you much more info. I enjoyed to very much
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 CaptKirk (175) - Hephzibah, Georgia, USA - OCT 22, 2005
Deep yellow golden in color. Has citrus aroma that made me wonder if this was the IPA that I asked for. After the first sip, I knew it was. Sharp citrus taste that gave way to the hops. Clean finish with a little bitterness at the end. Not bad for an IPA.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 argo0 (9222) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 25, 2005

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 DewBrewer (295) - Austin, Texas, USA - JUL 22, 2005
On draught in March, 2005. It has a copper color with a small head and it is very clear. The aroma is citrusy from cascade hops, I presume. The flavor is also citrusy from cascade, but there is less bitterness than many NW IPAs, and to be honest, this was welcome after a week of hoppiness! Good beer.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Sham (1846) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAR 10, 2005
Amber with a small head and decent lacing. Fresh hop aromas: bitter and grapefruits. Caramel malts. Bitter and grapefruit again in the flavor with some herbal and earthy qualities. Caramel malt back.

Bright copper colour. Minty, slightly spicy hop aroma with light caramel notes. Herbal, minty, crisp hop accent in the palate. Moderate overall character.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 BückDich (5468) - McCall, Idaho, USA - MAR 9, 2005
Sampled draught at Amnesia Brewing, Portland Light copper, light head. Nose of fruity bitter hops & chewy pale malts. The flavor is moderately fruity but not very thought provoking
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 3fourths (6385) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 3, 2005
Clear and medium orange color. Small white head. Fresh, leafy hop and cannibus aromas, sweet oily and sticky hops abound... oranges, lemons, peaches, pineapple... very syrupy on the palate. Sugar everywhere... mildly bitter, it’s a good drink but I don’t think my tongue could take so much cloying sweetness from one IPA.
