Cask (gravity) @ GBBF 2010, Great British Beer Festival, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, London, England.

Unclear hazy medium orange amber color with a small to average, fizzy to frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, woody notes, light heavy hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, caramel, light hoppy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20100806]

Draft at the brewpub. A muddy orange gold beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet matly with grassy notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of grass, leading to a dry and very bitter finish.

From cask. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and caramelish. Bitter and wooden. Sweet roasted caramelish and roasted. Dry and bitter into the finish. Ends dry and roasted.

Cask@GBBF2010. Hazy amber colour with small head. Aroma is bready malts, some fruits, mild earth and mould. Flavour is fruits, wood, some mild vanilla as well as quite floral. Ends fruity and sweet malty.

Draught, at the brewery

Bright copper colour. Minty, slightly spicy hop aroma with light caramel notes. Herbal, minty, crisp hop accent in the palate. Moderate overall character.

On tap at Henry’s, Portland. Great barman allowed us to try some samples before choosing what to drink. Mind you they would then only serve pints. Cloudy red/amber with thin beige head. Lovely intense hop aroma. Surprisingly drinkable in mouth. Lovely sherberty grapefruit. Lovely aroma,have I said that? Got some good malts in mouth. Lovely finishtoo. Just not too subtle.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a hazy orange color with a small off-white head. Has a malty hoppy bitter aroma with some pine hints. Sweetish malty hoppy bitter warming flavor with hints of citrus. Has a malty hoppy bitter citrus finish.

Cloudy golden body topped by a beige head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pineapple. Taste is medium sweet, grapefruit, some pineapple, light caramel. Medium body, light coating of resin.

Cask Stillage at the GBBF, Earl’s Court 06/08/2010 Hoppy aroma. Amber coloured a little hazy in appearance and strong in alcohol with a hint of bitterness and dryness in a nutty malt finish.
