Cask at GBBF 2011, Day 3. Pours brown with a moderate head. Decent roasted malt aroma, hints of coffee. Good and balanced flavor. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Subtle, earthy bitterness on the finish, rich bread, a bit of roast and dark sugar. Good beer.

Cask at GBBF 2011. Brown to black color. Sweet roasty aroma with licorice and coffee. The taste is roastier with dark burnt fruits and coffee. Some roasty acidity. Quite nice porter with an English feel.

GBBF. Cask. Opaque black beer, small suddy tan head. Smooth dry palate. Dense dark malt with a trace of roast. Undertone has some fruits. Silky finish.

GraviCask, one-third pint at USA Cask Ale Bar, BSF, at the third day of the Great British Beer Festival this year. Shiny surface to a deep, almost black coloured body. Dark chocolate to the nose with a little roastiness. Dark chocolate in flavour, too, supported by bitter coffee grounds. Dark fruits beneath. Nice mellow porter, well balanced (London, 04.08.2011).

Clear dark black brown colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, dusty chocolate, chalk, dusty coffee, berry. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat.

Rich coffee-cake aroma. Black, tan ring. Rich body, a touch burnt and oily, some sharpness too. Coffee and chocolate cake retronasals and finish. Good balance. Some gentle hops sharpen things up nicely.

Cask@GBBF2011. Pitch black colour, small brown head. Aroma is fruits, liquorice, some wooden and mild ashy notes. Flavour is liquorice, roasted malts, some fruityness, mild ashes, some slight burnt wet wood as well as some slight nutty notes. All in a very pleasant balance.

Tap @ GBBF. Pours black with a tanned nice head leaving lace. Aroma is ashes, roasted, coffee and malty. Flavor is sweetish, creamy and as aroma. Finishes bitter, malty and roasted.
